Due to potentially severe weather conditions from Tropical Storm Beryl, we have decided to close all BakerRipley facilities on Monday, July 8. Temperatures are rising in Houston, and we are all feeling the heat. Here are 3 Tips on how to stay cool this summer! 1. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic beverages as they can lead to dehydration. 2. Wear Light Clothing: Choose lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing. Natural fabrics like cotton and linen are preferable as they allow your skin to breathe. 3. Use Fans: Ceiling fans, box fans, or handheld fans can help circulate air and create a cooling effect. Place a bowl of ice in front of a fan for an extra cooling boost.

Early REACH in the news! 📰 Early REACH, a partnership between Harris County, the United Way of Greater Houston and BakerRipley was recently featured on FOX26 & CW59 (KMPH/KFRE) Houston to let families know that applications for the program are open NOW!  https://lnkd.in/g8M9E7Zw   Early REACH aims to provide high-quality, no-cost childcare for families in Harris County, ensuring children aged zero to four receive the best start possible. This program not only supports families by offering accessible childcare but also enhances compensation and training for our dedicated early childhood educators.  Children are accepted into the program on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us at our Food Fairs this July at our BakerRipley sites! These Food Distribution Fairs are open to the community and the dates and times are as follows. BakerRipley Pasadena Campus, July 2, begins at 8 AM. BakerRipley East Aldine Campus, July 3, begins at 8 AM. BakerRipley Gulfton Campus, July 16, begins at 8 AM. BakerRipley Ripley House Campus, July 23, begins 10 AM.

On May 22, 2024, BakerRipley's Child Care team at Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi celebrated reaching 4,000 children in care. The team grew enrollment by over 500 children since September 2023. One of the challenges facing the region was a limited number of classroom spaces for children in the community. This effort added over 150 new classroom spaces last quarter and a total of 577 spaces for the year!

We're thrilled to announce that with 27 Neighborhood Tax Center sites, we completed over 36,000 tax returns this season! 🎉 This work is making a difference for tens of thousands of individuals and families in the greater Houston area.
