Knowing how the behaviors of your target audience is so important. Probably once of the most important steps I see marketers skip so often is the buyer persona; then they wonder why their campaigns are not performing??? 😬 If your targeting is off, the messaging and everything that follows is off. Some food for thought. 🤔

This is so true for the #learning sector also - at the end of the day, those learning #objectives are, simply, influencing students' behavior. Learning professionals also face the same challenge that Dr. Marcus Collins brings up here - we come with expertise in content (words / copy, in mkt), but often don't back it up in terms of #experiential learning (action, in mkt). Words without action are quickly forgotten. Here's a quick guide to achieve meaningful experiences for both #marketers and #learning professionals: 🤓 Step 1: Test L&D: Have learners DO the thing that you're teaching them, with no prep. Give positive feedback on what they did well and take note of knowledge / skill gaps. MKT: Put your message out there: We are X / We do X / You should be/do X. Note the positive feedback you get and double down - your market trusts you in these areas. Note the negative feedback you get and focus on that in your actions as a company. 🤓 Step 2: Teach L&D: Focus on those skill / knowledge gaps. Include LOTS of spaced practice, examples, reflection, and feedback. MKT: Make the internal changes and show your market how your company is improving / changing / performing based on that negative feedback you got. Remember that addressing emotion is just as important as data. 🤓 Step 3: Test / measure progress L&D: Have your learners do a similar task / challenge to the initial one. Step back, observe, and listen. Give detailed performance feedback (and ASK for it). MKT: Throw your updated message out there again. Measure changes in the positive / negative feedback. Rinse and repeat.

How can brands keep it "real" with audiences? Focus on building lasting relationships, and spotlight unique personalities, says MIla Antin. In my experience, the best way to do that is by spotlighting customers themselves. A brand excited about its customers is one that people are naturally going to be excited about in turn. #Marketing #BrandStrategy
