Want to target African-Americans? Black viewers spend the most time with TV in general, including NEWS programming, well ahead of Hispanic and Asian viewers. Both Black and Asian viewers follow the general population pattern, spending MORE TIME with CABLE NEWS programming than broadcast! Consider MSNBC and CNN locally, for reaching this audience!

Many ponder the significance of Black inclusion in the UK - well, todays headlines answers the question. Where the colour of power remains a pressing issue, as those who wield influence get away with overt racism and hate. The pervasive challenges of gender and colourism intertwined disproportionately affecting black women and black communities more broadly in the UK. These dynamics manifest prominently in the workplace, evident in the persistent concrete ceilings and hateful verbal firing squad faced by many. A glance at the BAME spectrum reveals stark discrepancies in workforce metrics, particularly concerning outcomes for black individuals. As we approach Black Inclusion Week in May, themed "Empowered for Change: Building a Better Future Together," aimed at prompting introspection on both organizational and personal levels. Today's headline discourse highlights the need for bravery and accountability, as some chose silence in the face of reprehensible remarks directed at Diane Abbott, the first black female MP by Frank Hester. To those actively engaged in supporting, celebrating, and amplifying the voices of black individuals, We Salute you - Your dedication is commendable and crucial in fostering black equity and inclusion. Patrice Motsepe should avoid involving Vivendi in his group's bid. CANAL Group has been accused of being an ultra-fascist supremacist tool seeking influence in Africa. Now you get it ,if you need help I will be in South Africa to meet some of our business partners. The group may face restrictions in broadcasting in Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali. Participating in the bid with them could pose risks. South Africa's first black billionaire could join $2.9 billion Vivendi bid for MultiChoice. Patrice Motsepe, the South African billionaire, is in talks with Vivendi SE's Canal to team up for a multibillion-dollar bid for broadcaster MultiChoice Group. Discussions are in preliminary stages, and there's no assurance that a deal will be finalized. With a market capitalization of $2.15 billion, Multichoice refused to entertain Canal initial bid. Adding South Africa's wealthiest Black individual to the mix could also potentially assist the French media conglomerate in fulfilling the country's rigorous Black ownership criteria, Bloomberg reported.

I am actually excited to receive Top Faculty Paper Award on our paper exploring media consumption as a form of activism for African diasporic communities. In this paper, we propose a framework, Black diasporic imagination to capture the ways in which ideals of blackness are evolving in film, television, and music. We suggest this movement toward infusing African aesthetics and into US media is an act of destabilizing colonial constraints of black racial identity. We also argue that our support of the art in this digital, streaming era is another way in which we challenge media systems that center and privledge ”White” narratives. #nca
