🌱🇲🇾 The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) aims to become Malaysia's first carbon-neutral innovation park by 2035! 🌍💡 At the I-Nation conference, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Innovation Minister, Chang Lih Kang, shared the government's commitment to a 45% emission reduction by 2030 and fostering a green economy 🌿 Efforts include decarbonizing energy generation, promoting a circular economy, flood mitigation, ensuring clean water supply, food security, and transforming mobility. Mranti plans to increase renewable energy capacity to 40% by 2035 and actively reduce its carbon footprint, waste, and emissions. ♻️💚 🌐 Dr. Rais Hussin, CEO of MRANTI, highlighted the "Force For Good" agenda focusing on environmental protection, community upliftment, good governance, and a dynamic workforce. 🌳💼 Mranti is actively implementing eco-friendly practices and aims to raise a fund for ecology and biodiversity conservation in its 686-acre park 💡🚀 As a tech commercialization accelerator, Mranti will support innovators in embracing ESG-compliant principles, offering training and mentorship programs. Last week, the Global Stocktaking on Sustainable Energy (SDG 7) convened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as part of the #UNGASustainabilityWeek. The event featured thematic debates aimed at addressing critical issues such as closing the energy access gap and transitioning towards decarbonized energy systems. Discussions also focused on recognizing energy's interlinkages and enhancing means of implementation and partnerships. To expedite progress the President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), issued a compelling call to action. In collaboration with NetNada, we've successfully obtained our Carbon Neutral Certification, underscoring our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices, Our latest GHG Emissions Report shows our total emissions at 114.65 tCO2e. Thanks to our robust Environmental Sustainability Plan we've been able to offset 100% of our carbon footprint, including emissions from fuel, entertainment, rent, and our supply chain. Our objective is to over time to transition to 100% renewable energy - currently 60% of S&J's electricity comes from solar energy generated at the Saha Group Industrial Park.
