Learn how AWS & NVIDIA support and simplify live broadcast production to create a newsroom in the cloud in this mini documentary. 🎥☁️✨ Illustrating the possibilities of Live Cloud Production (LCP) on AWS in a real-world setting using NVIDIA GPU-backed Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) G4 and G5 instances, Amazon Web Services ran a cloud-based live news broadcast during NAB 2024. Production kicked off each day with a one-hour “Good Morning, NAB!” show, shot on a news desk in the West Hall lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center using pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, with the help of a production control room in the AWS booth where vision & audio mixing were done, and a remote team worked on graphics overlays, editing & other tasks. Following the morning show, NAB reporters broadcast daily live interviews from the show floor as they made their way across conference halls. Programming was available to watch at the AWS booth, on the NAB Show website & on select screens located throughout the LVCC. Several additional AWS Partners contributed to the broadcast, including AP ENPS, Ross Video, Telos Alliance, LiveU, Haivision, CaptionHub, Zixi, Alpha, Aoto & Ikan. AWS empowers broadcast customers to scale operations in the cloud & offers flexibility that traditional broadcast setups do not, such as support for remote collaboration; reduced on-premises infrastructure needs and costs; and more eco-friendly operations. Advanced LCP workflows built on AWS use a combination of purpose-built AWS Media Services, such as AWS Elemental MediaConnect & AWS Elemental MediaLive, and solutions and software from AWS Partners to support a range of production demands, from vision & audio mixing to replay, data-driven graphics, signal processing, discovery & routing, and intercom & tally. It was exhilarating to be part of this wonderful demonstration and supply the comms portion of the solution. Big congratulations to all the partners and team members who made it a success!

Been wanting to do this for years, back in SNA when we had to build our own cloud and at Discovery for the Olympics. However, now that broadcast has caught up with this concept unfortunately tech has moved on. I cant see a future where broadcast in its traditional sense prevails, yes we may all be watching the world cup, but we will all be watching different, very personal versions of it. Would personally love to see AWS driving a POC for this, you have ALL of the pieces already.

A great accomplishment by AWS for M&E. We were very pleased to play our part in the delivery workflow. Bravo to all involved!

Amazing to see such incredible partners work together to innovate like this! So glad we could contribute as the live captioning solution ✨

Be there! Telos, once again, leads the future with our Infinity Intercom and Altus Virtual console products, both used to make this a successful venture!
