Q:What materials do I need to apply for a new work permit card (change of work unit) inland? A:1. Application form for foreigner's work permit in China; 2. Certificate of work qualifications (Certificate of work experience related to the current position issued by the applicant's original work unit, including the position, working hours, or projects that have been done, which should be stamped by the applicant's original work unit or signed by the person in charge, and leave a valid contact number or email to prove the contact person.) ; 3. Highest degree certificate or related approval documents, professional qualification certificate (after November 1, 2017, foreigners who have newly obtained work permits for foreigners to change employers may not submit the highest degree certificate in some cases.) 4. Employment contract or employment certificate; 5. The applicant's passport or international travel document, the applicant's valid work and residence permit; 6. Head-on bareheaded photos of the applicant within 6 months; 7. Work permit cancellation letter; 8. Other materials. Q:How long does it take to transfer? A:Meet the processing conditions, about 10-15 working days to get a new work permit; Further change of residence permit requires an additional 7 working days.

It's hopeful that the pandemic is now behind us, but reflecting on its impact on maritime recruitment and crew management, there are valuable lessons to be learned. **Challenges faced in maritime recruitment during the pandemic:** - **Crew change crisis:** Travel restrictions led to a global crew change crisis, with many seafarers stranded on ships beyond their contract periods, causing exhaustion and mental health issues. - **Health and safety concerns:** Ensuring seafarer health required stringent protocols, including quarantine, frequent testing, and access to medical facilities. - **Training and certification delays:** Closure of maritime training institutions and halted certifications created a shortage of qualified personnel. - **Operational disruptions:** The uncertainty and logistical challenges disrupted shipping operations and planning. **Adaptations and innovations:** - **Remote maritime recruitment and training:** The industry shifted to virtual interviews, online assessments, and e-learning, expanding the talent pool and ensuring continuity. - **Collaboration and advocacy:** Industry stakeholders advocated for seafarers' key worker status, facilitating easier crew changes and travel exemptions. - **Enhanced health protocols:** Comprehensive health protocols, including regular testing and vaccination drives, were implemented. - **Flexible contract management:** Extended contracts and staggered crew changes helped maintain operational efficiency. - **Technology integration:** Automated systems for tracking crew movements, digital documentation, and remote health monitoring became essential. **Lessons learned:** - **Importance of flexibility:** Adaptable strategies like remote recruitment and flexible contracts were crucial for navigating uncertainties. - **Value of collaboration:** Industry-wide collaboration was key to overcoming challenges. - **Critical role of technology:** Digital platforms for recruitment, training, and health monitoring proved invaluable. - **Focus on seafarer welfare:** Prioritizing seafarer mental and physical well-being is both a moral obligation and essential for operational efficiency. - **Preparedness for future crises:** Developing robust contingency plans and a culture of continuous learning is vital for resilience.
