When you send out meeting invitations are you explicit in what you are expecting of people? Reflecting on yesterday's awesome session on Creative Leadership by Kirk Vallis through Google's Power for Partners programme, I want to drive engagement, disrupt thinking, and reframe challenge. BUT that sounds like an awful lot and a little scary. However one simple change could help this along. I love language and I know the impact it has on how people show up. Think about your next meeting - could you take the simple step and change the phraseology to explicitly set the tone? Rather than: "Quarterly Sales Review" how about "Kicking sales up a notch next quarter". What would that do to the energy people show up with? Telling people how you expect them to be, with deliberate positivity, gives the best chance for the right mindset at the right moment. Do you agree? Would this work for you?
