Please look carefully at such publications… Aeroflot Group will buy whatever it is told, no matter how long the delay is going to be. First of all, till now SJ-100s have been assigned only to the fleet of member of the group Rossia Airlines. Aeroflot Airlines itself does not have such type and new ones have nothing to do with SU itself. Soon or later they will come. Secondly, Tu-214 can be produced by factory in Kazan in a quantity of 4-5 per annum - not a big deal. There will be enough other customers. But…the key moment is that this type was designed according to ancient standards - with third person in the cockpit (board engineer). For SU this is the showstopper, no matter the design bureau and the producer promised to “look at the issue” MC-21 needs to prove its operational efficiency. Maybe it will be better than its Chinese rival (and potential alternative for SU) which is already operational? Let’s see….

✈️ First 100% SAF transatlantic flight ✈️ "The fuel for this flight was a blend of two renewable fuels. Around 88% was SPK. The remainder was synthesized aromatic kerosene (SAK), made from plant sugars, and supplied by Virent. Update on Flight100 - we are on our way to New York! It’s really exciting to be on the plane knowing that we helped make history today - the first 100% SAF transatlantic flight by a commercial airline. On the plane are representatives from the consortium and other team members that contributed to making Flight100 happen; the hive of aviation expertise and knowledge from the brilliant people onboard today is quite exhilarating. This flight has been more than a year in the making, requiring intensive testing, technical and safety approval processes across the partners, as well as the CAA (aviation regulatory body) and UK Department for Transport. The fuel we have blended and supplied has had to follow very specific procedures and meet stringent requirements. Safety is paramount and this flight is operating to the same safety standard as any other flight flown by Virgin Atlantic. So, what’s next? SAF currently represents the most viable option to help us meet the aviation industry’s net zero ambition. Currently there is only regulatory approval for a 50% blend of SAF with conventional jet fuel. Demonstrating 100% SAF in today’s aircraft and infrastructure is a key contributor to both the approval of higher blends and commercialization of SAF at scale to meet demand. This is a mega achievement for our industry and for our team and I’m extremely proud of the important role we’ve played in this milestone moment.
