We are deeply saddened by the destruction caused by the Maui wildfires. In addition to contributing and raising funds through the organizations below, Avendra is actively working with supplier partners across Hawaii and the U.S. mainland to provide food, water, diesel and other critical supplies to help the Maui community in its time of need. Our team is proactively monitoring the situation and remain committed to assisting the people of Maui during this difficult time. “Now that most of the tourists have been evacuated, we are turning our efforts to working with the displaced local people who are staying at our client hotels,” said David Hill, Avendra’s Managing Regional Director, West. Slovenia recently faced its worst natural disaster to date - floods and landslides that left 500 families without a home and damaged public infrastructure, impacting 2/3 of the country. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to volunteer and witness firsthand the resilience and solidarity of the Slovenian people. Despite the devastation, empathy and hope prevailed, as volunteers from different parts of the country came together to support those in need. As part of Dell's commitment to giving back, the local team in Slovenia has initiated a donation drive to support families affected by the floods. Dell will also match all internally raised funds to increase the final donation. You can donate through the following link: https://lnkd.in/ew7B6ytf. The link internally for Dell employees: https://lnkd.in/eqZqSVuc Let's continue to stand in solidarity with those impacted by the floods and support the recovery efforts. #work4Dell #volunteering #donations #Sloveniafloods

🧃 I teach practical lessons that nourish your personal & professional growth. 🌶️ I said Keep LinkedIn Spicy first.
If you heard of the wildfire in Maui and want to help the survivors, here's how: 1. Do not go to Maui for vacation (or to Hawaii for that matter). They need every hotel room possible to house the people who lost their homes. Some are flying to other islands like Oahu, so they need spare airline seats as well. Hawaii is in the middle of the ocean. Yes we're part of the US, but we have limited resources. Maui can't handle tourists taking up precious resources that the wildfire survivors desperately need right now. 2. Donate to local organizations. One silver lining is seeing how quickly the community came together. Here in Oahu, locals are donating supplies, food, and water, while businesses are collecting them to ship them over to Maui. If you live in Hawaii, I heard yesterday that they urgently need more water and non-perishable food so prioritize those over other supplies. Contact your local food bank, Red Cross, or favorite small businesses to see if they're a drop off zone for donations. If you don't live in Hawaii and can't donate non-perishable goods, then monetary donations are the next best thing. Here's a link to a reliable source (I recommend the first three on the list). https://lnkd.in/e7HQE4F7 If you have any questions, drop them in the comments or DM me. Side note: I'm safe. I live on Oahu. Thank you to those who checked in on me. #maui

I don't post much, but I wanted to talk about the Maui fires. For many of you, this might seem like some far-away place, but Maui is my home. Thousands of people are displaced, homes levelled, jobs gone, hundreds missing and many will never return. It is going to take a long time to rebuild and right now Maui could use your help. There are limited resources there, many wont be able to work or restart their lives, and tourism (the island's main source of income) is halted as the community is focused on helping and saving those in need. Please please PLEASE- if you are able, consider donating: There are several ways you can kōkua (help). Monetary donations can be sent to: Maui County Strong Fund (@hawaiicommunityfoundation) at: https://lnkd.in/grdusZ7U (Funds to be used to make grants for immediate needs to organizations that are assisting community members that have lost their homes) Hawaiʻi Red Cross (@hawaiiredcross) at: https://lnkd.in/gEtAqGXs (specify Maui Red Cross fire relief in the appropriate box) Maui Food Bank (@mauifoodbank) at: mauifoodbank.org (donations will support food relief efforts across Maui)

Our thoughts go out to Maui!
With the residents of Maui in our hearts, including 500 WFG agents in the state of Hawaii, WFG President Todd Buchanan and field leader Xuan Nguyen, and along with many other WFG agents, visited families in Lahaina impacted by the wildfires in Maui in August 2023. Team members from Maui, Oahu and Kauai pulled together making and distributing bags filled with necessities to assist those in need as they recover from the devasting wildfire. The WFG Foundation is matching all WFG-agent donations, up to $250,000, to the American Red Cross until September 19th, 2023. “Families take care of each other,” noted WFG President, Todd Buchanan. “That’s what we do. WFG is a family.” #MauiStrong #WeStepUp #ForceForGood #WeareWFG
