Do you want to spend your Friday evening with your colleagues? Well, sometimes I do.
One year ago, we introduced the concept of local communities at BearingPoint within our Service Line Customer & Growth. After a long period of a remote-only work setting, these micro-communities aimed to create bonds that extend beyond project collaboration and deadlines, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
And, indeed, after one year three key benefits became apparent:
๐ค Teambuilding:
Our communities provide a platform for team members to bond over shared interests and hobbies, strengthening relationships and trust among colleagues. Inside and outside the office.
๐ Connecting across projects:
These communities break down silos between teams and projects, allowing for cross-pollination of ideas and experiences, leading to innovation and improved collaboration on work-related tasks.
๐ Fun:
In the end, our local communities are also about having a good time. Offering opportunities for our team members to unwind, relax, and have fun together, fostering a positive and vibrant work culture. In our C&G Hamburg community for example, we've been kayaking, visited a Christmas market and meet regularly for extended lunch breaks. Or, as we did yesterday for the second time already, conducted our own annual "Kohlfahrt" - a concept that definitely doesn't translate into English ๐
Bringing such a concept to life always demands people committed to "just do it". Hence, I'm super grateful for my colleagues Charlotte Kirsch, Lukas Butz & Niklas Jensen who invest their time and effort together with me, to develop our Hamburg community. And, obviously, Marcel Tietjen who, as our Service Line Lead, encourages and supports us to make these kind of things happen.
