One of the most challenging and fascinating duties of archivists is to bring younger generations to view their collections and thus to diffuse archival consciousness and strengthen historical memory. Designing and implementing educational programmes for different target groups is a demanding task. Public history is a shared field for archivists and historians.
We’re playing a key role in fostering the next generation’s love and care of Australian history. The Canberra Resource Immersion Program is helping teachers to bring the national archival collection into the classroom for Years 11 and 12 students of modern history. For the second year, the Learning and Visitor Experience team at the National Office is delivering the program, with curators providing a special insight into our permanent exhibitions. As part of a national approach to collaboration and service delivery, the Learning and Visitor Experience team play a vital role in helping young people to engage meaningfully with the story of our nation—now and into the future. The Canberra Resource Immersion Program is facilitated by the Royal Historical Society of Victoria and the National Capital Education Tourism Project. Students and teachers can find more about our school programs, educational resources, teacher professional learning and student competitions on our website: https://lnkd.in/g3_J6SPg

Highly recommend this course as offering a great set of tools for navigating complexity in current public service and policy world.
We live in powerful times. A world of uncertainty, complexity and rapid change. A permanent rolling crisis at every level, showing up as much in our personal as in our professional lives. We are dancing at the edge. But there is hope. We all have it within us to rise to the occasion. IFF’s Competence in Complexity programme offers a supportive process for participants to develop their 21st century competencies together and demonstrate them in practice in effective, transformative, future-facing action. Each cohort is hosted in our online Atelier, a dedicated virtual space to connect, converse, share and access materials, resources and insights and to remain 'on campus' throughout in a dedicated community of practice. The heart of the programme is an intensive, three day in person workshop 11 – 13 September 2024, laying the foundations for the subsequent move into action. Sign up by 8th July 2024 for a special early bird discount. For more information visit: https://lnkd.in/e28AQxAU

Making a difference working with the sector to deliver next generation student management systems for the sector
After an amazing first #Strengify workshop Strengify are now planning to run a series of workshops targeted at the HE sector and it's challenges of today. If you want to improve the performance of yourself, your team or your institution in a way that is relevant to HE check out these links. At a time when the sector is facing many challenges including staff recruitment and retention this has got to be something that every institution should be looking at. Personally joining #thesis with the truly modern Thesis #studentmanagementsystem for the UK HE sector I know that our growth and success will be predicated on building on our own personal strengths and building strengths based teams. Check out the following links to find out more and see how some of your sector peers found the first event. Dates are still being finalised but they're looking to cover the following locations: London (TBC - 6 Feb) Edinburgh (TBC - 27 Feb) Bristol (TBC - 12 Mar) Leeds (TBC) Birmingham (TBC) If anyone wants to know what it's about, there's a write-up here - https://lnkd.in/eD8r6sds And also a video of feedback here (where they can also 'register their interest') - https://lnkd.in/eD8r6sds P.S.
