⚡️ Big News for Offshore Wind! ⚡️
When it comes to offshore wind, Brazil is positioned to become a global leader. With 234 GW of offshore wind projects awaiting regulatory approval, and Empresa de Pesquisa Energética affirming a massive 700 GW potential capacity, the country is set for significant growth in the sector. 🌊💡
What’s also exciting is that, after a slow start, project applications for environmental permits have surged following the first offshore wind decree in 2022. This decree provided a much-needed legal structure, and now, the conversation continues in Congress with the Offshore Wind Bill, aiming to establish a comprehensive framework for the industry. ⚖️
What’s missing? Today, there is significant difficulty in assessing offshore wind potential, as highlighted in the EPE report[1], where they reiterate the critical lack of offshore wind measurements. AMUN addresses this gap by providing accurate wind speed data based on ERA5, offering a valuable tool for pricing wind assets and improving decision-making in the offshore wind sector. 📊
Next week, on October 2nd, Aurora Energy Research will launch AMUN, an innovative tool that delivers bankable asset-specific revenue forecasts for wind assets in minutes.
