After teachers, school leaders have the most impact on student outcomes. According to a 2021 report by the Wallace Foundation, principal effectiveness has a deeper and broader impact on student achievement than previously thought: replacing a below-average elementary school principal with an above-average principal would translate into an increase of 2.7 months of reading per student, per year. Leadership education affiliated with academicprograms (e.g., course for credit, minor, major) only had significant and positive effects on students’social change behaviors and not on students’social generativity or social perspective taking. Furthermore,the overall effects of those programs on students’social change behaviors, social generativity, and socialperspective taking are minimal, suggesting other pre-college or college experiences may have a greaterimpact on college students’prosocial behaviors." Data can be a powerful tool for setting direction and monitoring progress. One of our most important tools for collecting data is CLEE’s validated Learning Community Survey (LCS). The survey measures the extent to which all the educators and leaders in a school are enacting the six Core Leadership Practices that research has found to increase adult collaboration, student learning and equity. It is similar to the PLC Survey many have used, but further articulated, validated, and aligned to practices that increase educational equity. https://lnkd.in/gNr8He_p

These are just five quotes from students who attended the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education Delaware Valley Consortium for Equity and Excellence.
