Don’t be embarrassed with your current or past jobs. Many years ago, I’ve worked as a: - data entry personnel - customer service representative - food delivery driver - plastic factory operator - mail and parcel sorter - office cleaner - hotel and toilet cleaner - clinical experiment participant - tourist guide - personal shopper - pet taxi driver - mobile phone technician - computer repair technician These experience and skills you gain from your work are priceless. Because no one can take these away from you. Some people will look down on you. Ignore you. Or even disrespect you. That’s OK. They don’t pay your bills. As you move forward in your life, these experiences will shape you. It raises your self-awareness. You’ll be better, stronger, and wiser. Appreciate the opportunities. Be humble. Because one day you’ll become unstoppable. And your future self will thank you. Source: Richard Ker

Msc Aviation Management | Talks about digital aviation, Saas for the airline industry |Sustainable aviation| Travel
It isn’t easy being a dispatcher. I often hear about dispatchers who struggle to sustain a long-term career It can be overwhelming and unpredictable. It’s one of those you have to ‘love it to do it’ type jobs. A role suited to those who thrive in fast-paced environments. Dispatchers are responsible for ensuring flights operate efficiently and effectively before take-off and landing. Their Tasks include: *Monitoring changing weather patterns before flights take off, answering time sensitive requests from service providers and ground handlers, *Prioritizing safety and assigning resources to flights, whether that’s additional crew or catering. Necessary skills: *Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, *Effective communication skills to relay information between ground staff and service providers *The flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, poor weather conditions or emergencies. Some of the challenges dispatchers face: *Lack of communication from other dispatchers or field workers, *Language barriers and incomplete information. *Tiresome shift work and last-minute changes to schedules. What are the tools that can help make the role a little bit easier? Effective technology should make any job more efficient. The same must be said about the tools being offered to dispatchers. There is no shortage of vendors in the aviation market with dispatcher focused solutions The goal of these solutions - To empower dispatchers with the information and time they need to get the job done more efficiently and with less struggles. Some of the best tools to use are *GPS trackers are useful when dispatchers have to co-ordinate first respondents in an emergency situation. *A comprehensive flight radar that monitors incoming and outgoing flights in real time. *A task management platform that allows these other tools to integrate seamlessly to transfer essential data. Dispatch software should be designed to monitor the flight execution in real time, allowing dispatchers to quickly modify landing slots and adjust schedules due to timing issues and last-minute changes. PS: I’ll be at @Airops tomorrow if any dispatchers out there would like to grab a coffee, hope to see you there!
