Stewarding, Family, and Work: Keep It Balanced Stewarding Manager Yes, You Can! Every day presents a challenge, balancing family and work responsibilities. Striving for high performance in both areas can lead to stress and frustration. As a stewarding manager, it's crucial to distinguish between home and work life. Making things easier is a continual effort. Be the best parent and spouse at home, and the most effective stewarding manager at work. Engage everyone in shared expectations and manage both aspects diligently. Planning, strategizing, organizing, communicating, and executing effectively on both fronts are key. Sometimes, we face conflicts alone because we hesitate to seek help or offer support to those who need us. Experienced stewarding managers can anticipate busy periods, so planning ahead is wise. Consider arranging reliable childcare or setting aside funds for daycare. Communicate with family in advance for potential support. Prepare yourself and your teams by holding meetings and discussing expectations early to avoid conflicts. Don't wait until you're cornered to fight back. Proactively set goals and objectives and take necessary steps to achieve them. As a stewarding manager, be your own savior. Avoid letting procrastination and lack of planning create stress at home and work. While some challenges may be unavoidable, being prepared can make them more manageable. You have the ability to achieve great things and the strength to maintain balance. Invest in what you need to fulfill your responsibilities. Stay strong, stewarding manager. You have the power to make it happen. Keep Living

Make The Environment Better Stewarding Manager Even When Some Hate! Have you noticed how issues in Stewarding, even minor ones, often get amplified? Take, for example, a health inspector noting debris on the floor. This might not incur any demerits, but it often overshadows other aspects of the inspection. It's essential not to take this personally. In support roles, it's common for others to shift focus to your department, perhaps to divert attention from their shortcomings. Remember, while addressing these issues is essential, continuing to move forward is equally crucial. Inevitably, there will always be some debris. As a Stewarding manager, your role is vital in shaping a positive work environment, despite the challenges posed by those who criticize yet contribute little to its upkeep. Embrace this role as an opportunity to be a force for positive change and resilience. Choosing a career in Stewarding means facing these challenges consistently and patiently, much like police officers, firefighters, or teachers deal with their daily hurdles. Your work, while not life-threatening, is based on similar principles. You are tasked with improving environments others may neglect, requiring courage, strength, commitment, resilience, and emotional intelligence. A mistake or challenge doesn't define you; it's a chance to demonstrate your ability to enhance the situation. Keep rising to the occasion, making each day count. Stewarding may often be scrutinized because it's the heart of the food and beverage operation – vital yet susceptible to criticism. Therefore, stay focused, vigilant, and committed to improvement, regardless of others' actions in the workplace Keep Living

Energetic Founder / CEO of The Wellbeing Farm B Corp Certified events venue in Lancashire - delivering fun, unique and sustainable corporate events, weddings and parties.
Today is an ‘undercover boss’ day - well not so much undercover but it’s my chance to work two weddings this weekend. They will be long shifts (11am - 2am)!! During the shifts I will do something in EVERY area: cleaning, kitchen, bar, food service, animals, wedding coordination, housekeeping… But I periodically do this to: - check staff are well trained - see if I can improve any systems and processes - look out for any health and safety issues - check customer service levels are being maintained - look for ways to improve our offer - look for any equipment or supplies shortfalls - look at ways to improve the staff experience and wellbeing too Plus an added bonus is I’ll certainly achieve a minimum of 10,000 steps today! Do you do anything like this in your biz???? If not I highly recommend it… #entrepreneurlife #undercoverboss #backtothefloor #continuousimprovement #alwayslearning
