The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper has told the city of Atlanta that it plans to sue over discharges of poorly treated sewage into the Chattahoochee River, which the group says continue to foul the waterway with dangerous levels of bacteria and other pollutants. The notice of intent to sue, a requirement under the federal Clean Water Act, is a reminder of the challenges Atlanta has had for decades in managing its wastewater. It also comes as the city suffered through water main breaks causing a prolonged water outage in late May and early June that captured national headlines. https://lnkd.in/eZQQYyTE

For example, the Water Quality in Jackson, MS, as of December 11, 2023: 💩 I have posted a few times about this water crisis in the USA, but, of course, those posts were likely shadowbanned. Anyway, here is another update on the water quality in Mississippi, but, just note, this is an ongoing national crisis. What are the classifications of water damage? Category 1 is Clean Water from a sanitary source. Category 2 is known as Gray Water, and slightly contaminated and unsanitary water. Category 3 is Black Water, which is hazardous, contaminated, and likely in contact with sewage and biohazards. Each category may need to be handled differently when it comes to safety and clean up. #waterdamagerestoration #waterdamage
