The 1st half of the year is done and dusted. A New Month, which ushers in the last 2 Quarters as well as the remaining Half of the Year is here. Remember the following: 1. It is not Over Until it is OVER; You can still achieve set goals, dreams and aspirations you havent achieved yet. 2. Some oppurtunities do not announce: Always look out for oppurtunities whether in your face or in disguise. 3. Have a Positive Mindset: Rome wasnt built in a day but the idea to build it started in a day. 4. Have Faith in Yourself and Your Ability to Grow: You are your own limiting Factor. 5. Take care of yourself: This is your sole responsibility that cannot be assigned to others. Above all, Trust in God that can see you through all your issues and help you overcome your Challenges. Welcome to JULY and Happy New Month !!!

Thanks to the long Easter weekend and an unexpected wisdom tooth extraction on Good Friday morning (ouch!), I've completed reading "Manifesto on Never Giving Up" by Bernardine Evaristo in just 4 days. The memoir is an absolute joy to read! Evaristo's reflections on her career and the challenges she faced are deeply inspiring, continuously reminding us of the power of perseverance. Her journey to winning the Booker prize at 60 years old serves as a testament to the fact that success is rarely overnight. I've jotted down a few nuggets from her book that I believe are worth reflecting on as we enter Q2 and a new month: - “Life presents us with obstacles; it’s never a completely smooth ride for anyone. While nobody wants to struggle, it’s the only way we build resilience.” - “Learn to turn ambition into a vision; create goals that are seemingly impossible because goals within easy reach aren’t a vision at all but merely a next stage, a small step.” - “Personal success is most meaningful when used to uplift communities otherwise left behind. We are all interconnected and must look after each other.” - “Be wild, disobedient, and daring with your creativity; take risks instead of following predictable routes. Those who play it safe do not advance civilization.”

On the flight from Toronto to Hong Kong, I watched a Chinese movie that featured a theme encapsulated in a single sentence: "One will find his/her true color after crossing the desert." This recurring phrase lingered in my mind throughout the journey, prompting a period of introspection as I contemplated its significance in relation to the trials and tribulations of life. I came to interpret the "desert" as representative of the most formidable moments in our lives. It symbolizes the period when we face our deepest hardships and enduring challenges. In these moments of adversity, the true fabric of our character is put to the test, and we are presented with the opportunity to reveal our authentic selves. It is during these trials that the true colors of our spirit and resilience emerge. Adversity serves as a crucible, forging our character and revealing our capacity for resilience and fortitude. The process of navigating through these challenging moments is an opportunity for growth and transformation—shaping us into individuals of unwavering strength and unyielding perseverance. Moreover, the recognition that the outcome of our endeavors is not solely determined by our own efforts was a profound revelation. The acknowledgment of a guiding force of God underscores the notion that our journey through the desert is not undertaken in solitary isolation. Instead, we are accompanied by a power beyond ourselves—a force that plays an integral role in shaping the trajectory of our lives. In the end, it is the journey through the desert—the darkest, most trying moments in our lives—that serves as the crucible through which our true character is forged. It is through our unwavering resilience in the face of failure, our spirit to rise after falling hard, and our relentless pursuit of inner strength that our character is strengthened and refined.

🌊 A Lesson from Christopher Columbus 🌊 🌟 "You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore." – Christopher Columbus 💪 Let's dive into the depths of this timeless wisdom. This quote encapsulates the essence of pushing boundaries, stepping out of comfort zones, and embracing the unknown. 🚀 Think about it – Columbus embarked on an unprecedented voyage, leaving the safety of the familiar shoreline to explore uncharted waters. – It took audacity, determination, and an unwavering belief in the possibilities beyond the horizon. 💡 In our own journeys, whether personal or professional, the same principle applies. – Growth, innovation, and success demand that we shed the safety net of the known and venture into the unexplored. 🔑 It's about summoning the courage to sail towards the uncharted, the unfamiliar, and the uncertain. – Only then can we uncover new opportunities, experiences, and achievements that lie beyond the shore. 🌊 Remember this: The most remarkable discoveries are born from the willingness to let go of the familiar and set sail toward the promise of something greater. 🎉🌍 Happy Columbus Day 🌊🚀🗺️ #ExploreTheUnknown #EmbraceChange #VentureBeyondComfort #CourageToGrow #ChristopherColumbusWisdom

Do What You Love, Love What You Do Last week, I had a conversation with my dear friend, ⛰️ Lei Wang who is the first Asian Woman to complete the Explorer’s Grand Slam - reaching the Summits of the Highest Mountains on 7 Continents (including Mount Everest) and both Poles. During our conversation, I learned that Lei did something in 2004 that many of us would hesitate to even consider; she left a very successful career in the corporate world of finance to pursue her true purpose and passion. To learn more about how linking passion and purpose enables you to be at your best both personally and professionally, see this article, as well as others below. https://lnkd.in/ggw7YPEt

Today, we celebrate the rich history, cultures, and contributions. It's a day to honor the resilience, wisdom, and traditions passed down through generations. Let's stand together in recognition and respect for the Indigenous Peoples' heritage and ongoing contributions to our global tapestry. To celebrate, here are some fun facts: Growing Recognition: Indigenous People's Day has gained recognition and momentum in recent years. Many cities and states across the United States have officially replaced Columbus Day with Indigenous People's Day to honor the rich and diverse heritage of Native American communities. Global Observance: The concept of recognizing and celebrating Indigenous Peoples' contributions and cultures is not limited to the United States. Several countries, including Canada and various Latin American nations, also have their own versions of Indigenous Peoples' Day or similar holidays to honor their Indigenous populations.

Christopher Columbus is renowned for his multiple voyages across the Atlantic. His voyages significantly influenced the world, opening up American and Caribbean trade routes to European influence. This famous quote emphasises the need to shift our focus from our current situation while exploring new opportunities in life. Here are a few ways our current circumstances hinder us from achieving greatness and success: ✅ Present satisfaction ✅ Fear of success ✅ Fear of failure ✅ Limiting self-beliefs ✅ Other people’s opinions To accomplish great things, successful people develop a fixed mindset to help them avoid distractions and noise. Paul, in his writing to the Hebrews, said the following: “Therefore, since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Today, I encourage you to identify a situation holding you back and, with determination, create a plan to help you move forward.
