According to the 2023 NSI National Healthcare Retention & RN Staffing Report, the hospital turnover rate stands at 22.7%, a 3.2% decrease from 2021, and Registered Nurse turnover is recorded at 22.5%, a 4.6% decrease. This high turnover rate is costing healthcare organizations a lot of money. In fact, the cost of turnover for a single nurse can range from $30,000 to $60,000. There are many factors that contribute to high turnover rates in healthcare, including: Burnout: Nurses are feeling increasingly burned out due to long hours, heavy workloads, and the stress of dealing with sick patients. 😫 Low pay: Nurses are often underpaid for the important work they do. ☹️ Lack of support: Nurses often feel like they don't have the support they need from their managers or colleagues. 😰 If you're a nurse who is feeling burned out or underpaid, or if you're not getting the support you need, it's important to speak up.
