ASTM's gaseous fuels committee (D03) has proposed a new standard for testing metals in gaseous fuels. Biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) among the fuels addressed by the standard. Jonathan Cross, a member of the committee working on the standard, says “the ability to perform accurate analysis of metals in RNG is critical for producers, utilities, and manufacturers of gas upgrading equipment to assess the efficacy of gas treatment technology in removing metals through the gas upgrading process.” https://lnkd.in/eJ7DCgGc #metals #gas #fuel #fuels #biogas #naturalgas #RNG

During today's pinning ceremony — part of ASTM Staff Appreciation Week festivities — former ASTM President Kathie Morgan passed the proverbial torch to ASTM's new President Andy Kireta. Encased in plexiglass, the pin has been passed from William T. Cavanaugh to Joseph O'Grady to Jim Thomas, and now from Kathie to Andy. Kathie shared a personal history of her time with ASTM. 40 years of witnessing not only the growth of ASTM International worldwide, but also the changes in office technology — fax machines and CRT screens to mobile phones and instantaneous worldwide communication. All the while, some things haven't changed. From technical committee operations staff taking care of minutes, ballots, and schedules, to the value of all staff — no matter their title — in advancing ASTM International's mission. #ASTMproud #staffappreciation #president #celebration #standards
