Was great to head out last night to listen to Whaimutu Dewes Leesah Murray and Dr Jim Mather, who also received his award as a Chartered Fellow and, speak as part of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand Māori Governance/ Tikanga in the age of PSGEs at ASB The Cube with Georgie Thompson and Eve Steenson. Always an interesting space and the nuances of māori governance layered with the cultural, political and corporate was not lost on the audience. Key insights that I came away with was 1) Stage not age. Where are you in your governance journey/ expertise. A response related to encouraging young people on boards Leesah Murray 2) Sovereignty matters. Giving people the power to decide and that best practice is undefined / not defined in these spaces Whaimutu Dewes kōrero from his research 3) Situational Leadership. Dr Jim Mathers referencing what is required at different points of the PSGE process and how these shifts may not be recognised or difficult in knowing the people that got you “here” pre settlement may not get you “there” post settlement. IFPO MENASA -- Middle East, North Africa, South Asia -- is offering a webinar on Jan. 10 titled "Forces Shaping the Hospitality Industry Security." This initiative is anchored to the two of the IFPO MENASA's strategic objectives, the first being value creation for industry professionals; and the other, anchoring IFPO programs for specific industry segments. This webinar is a precursor to our forthcoming CPO cohort, which is designed to engage professionals from diverse countries within the MENASA region who are presently affiliated with hospitality enterprises.   The Automotive Industry Development Centre led by CEO Andile Africa ; is participating in this year’s Africa Kaizen Annual Conference (AKAC) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are hosting the AKAC. The AKAC serves as a platform for stakeholders to expand their networks, share knowledge, and deepen their understanding of KAIZEN activities. This year the AKAC is held under the theme: Strengthening the potential AKI-COEs to spread K/QPI activities all over Africa thereby contributing to the industrialisation process and innovation.
