Sirens are THE effective and cost-efficient dam safety solution for warning the population of dangers due to flooding or dam failure. Many dam operators worldwide therefore rely on sirens from HÖRMANN Warnsysteme. Our solutions are durable, low-maintenance and always reliably ready for use, even independently of the power grid. HÖRMANN sirens can be found at dams in Spain, Portugal and Italy, for example, but also in South America. Experience from over 65 years of developing, manufacturing and installing sirens, product quality ‘Made in Germany’ and customer proximity through well-trained partners are the reasons why operators worldwide choose our electronic sirens to protect their dams. You can also find out more about our sirens at the stand of IES SOLER Industrias Eléctricas Soler at the SPANCOLD - Comité Nacional Español de Grandes Presas congress.

From estimates, today's patronage is no better than a century ago, when Hobart had a multi-modal network. AquaMist ULF is a water mist solution that operates at low pressure and with ultra-low flow. This efficient fire suppression system offers significant cost and space savings compared to high-pressure systems, providing a reliable and effective solution that maximizes performance and convenience. Key Features: • Third-Party Certifications: FM and VdS certifications for various uses, such as machine rooms, data centres, industrial fryers, and storage facilities, all supported by comprehensive fire testing. • Maximize Cost Efficiency: Low-pressure systems require smaller pumps and generators than high-pressure mist systems, resulting in lower installation and operational expenses. • Lower Power Consumption: Decreased water usage in AquaMist ULF results in less power usage, potentially saving costs associated with power cables and connections. • Perfect for Upgrading: AquaMist ULF systems can be retrofitted to the same water source alongside a fire sprinkler system, unlike high-pressure systems that need their own specially treated water source. For more information on how AquaMist ULF can benefit your facility, don't hesitate to contact Sperosens at 27 (12) 665 0317. https://bit.ly/3VT6fI0 #Sperosens #SafetyThroughInnovation #AquaMistULF #WaterMistSolution #FireSuppression

🚚 A plan to tackle peat soil affected roads, focusing on safety, will be considered by members of the Highways and Transport Committee on Tuesday (23 January). ☀️ Peat roads across parts of rural Cambridgeshire, are particularly vulnerable to extreme weather, as the peat soils expand and contract leading to cracking and bending in the road surface. 📰 The report to be considered by committee provides short, medium and long-term plans for maintaining peat roads.

The difference between the private and public sector… If the private sector needs water they will find a way to build a lake on top of a mountain to do a frack in a week. (Using sea rings, miles of 12” water lines, and dozens of 5000gpm pumps or miles of water trucks). If the public sector needs water they tell their citizens to wallow in their own filth for weeks until they can figure things out.

Rising temperatures, intense rainfall, and shifting weather patterns require innovative approaches to ensure our roads stand up to the challenge. The world of pavement design is ever-evolving, innovation is the driving force, various factors such as materials, construction techniques, and maintenance requirements to create reliable and resilient infrastructure.
NTRO pavements discipline leader Dr Mike Moffatt has appeared on ABC South East South Australia’s Breakfast program with Becc Chave to talk about roads and potholes following the recent heavy rain in the region. In the interview below, Dr Moffatt discusses why roads fail, why potholes form, new and emerging road materials, and how Councils are starting to pool their resources to find better, more cost-effective solutions to road repair. Thanks to the ABC for featuring us and helping shine a light on an important issue gaining significant attention right now – especially in regional Australia. #road #pavement #sustainability #weather #potholes #NTRO
