I believe there are 4 ingredients to a great first meeting. These are things everyone has control over. And when they're done right, people remember us weeks and months later. I shared these 4 ingredients with undergraduate students interning at UC Davis Health. They used these to build relationships with doctors, nurses, and administrators, which led to mentorship opportunities. What are the 4 ingredients to great first meetings? 1. EYE CONTACT - to show full focus on the person we're meeting 2. A SMILE - to be welcoming and open to conversation 3. FIRM HANDSHAKE - to share our energy and excitement for the meeting 4. UPRIGHT POSTURE - to give respect to the occasion What would you add for a 5th ingredient?

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗽? A Fireman? A policeman? A Nurse? A Farmer? I wanted to become a Doctor... 🤦♂️ And everything was somewhat on track until, in my first year of studies, we were exposed to an operating theater... and I suddenly realized this was not quite my jam. On the one hand because I knew I would not be able to deal with body trauma on a daily basis. And on the other, because I realized I'm not really interested in medicine. 💡 Not the best thing to discover in your first year of study, but it allowed me to pursue other opportunities that I did feel more passionate about. ⏳ You see - life happens. And the professional goals you had when you were a child, or when you were nearing tertiary education, may not be the same aspirations you hold today. But I am willing to bet there is a goal of some sort, perhaps hiding under the covers. Something that, when someone asks you to dream a little, comes to the front of your mind immediately. 💥 Understanding - even in broad terms - what your longer term career aspirations are is a key step in helping you find purpose in the job you do right now. In our previous posts we outlined how to identify professional values and professional strengths. How do you create wellness and address issues of stress in medical training centers? Today's coffee & comfort-fueled Sunday morning creativity is focused upon constructing my Grand Rounds presentation for the Transitional Interns at NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER PORTSMOUTH this week. It is an honor to be able to work with trainees as a American Red Cross volunteer. My volunteer focus is to support staff and trainee well-being. I was invited to speak on "#wellness" - that's almost always how it's couched, in quotes, as I think it's a term that folks just don't understand what it really means. Perhaps that lack of understanding is why wellness chats are often dry admonitions to "do yoga & meditate, move more" and "here's some pizza." Instead I'm infusing my unique approach: Lighthearted fun (always), bringing vulnerability, inviting compassion for how this is a shared experience, curiosity to explore and connection to apply to emotional health tools to understand the origin and impact of stress and burnout throughout medicine, as well as steps we can take right away to create #change. Welcome to my Me-Time Experience Part-1 with Dr.vaishali Raval      Have you ever heard about " Me Time " and itself suggesting that you look at yourself and time or giving time to yourself. So when was the last time you gave yourself time, do you remember ? think think think      If I talk about me then what is the"  Me - time"  for me too..So let me share with you.        So by  profession I am homeopathic doctor and health coach where I have a very hectic schedule. So mostly my day goes from home to clinic and from clinic to home.And which is very monotonous ; But what  i  am releasing After college life, when we entered professonal life, I found myself alone as my friends were limited to all the colleges.So I always miss that college fun, familiarity, fun moments spent with friends, enjoyment.      So what happened one day, all of us community members were sitting around and we thought what can we do for Me time .After that  like minded people all gathered together ,And then we thought how we can enjoy Me Time and that's how Me Time Club started. So this was just a random thought and from that we all got together and we created Me Time.           But this is just the beginning of time, the picture is yet to come, friend. यह तो अभी सिर्फ शुरुआत है मेरे दोस्त, पिकचर तो  अभी बाकी है!!          But the thing is the most surprising part was a random thought and we did not know that due to this random thought, due to Metime, so many good changes will come in our life. And we all the community members realized  that our whole day is becoming better, there is a lot of productivity in our work, its kind of 360 degree changes in our life.          So in the upcoming  series, I am going to share many things with you, so its kind of Me Time stories.
