FaithFirst is a heartwarming sanctuary for the soul, designed to bring spiritual solace to those in healthcare settings. Research underscores the profound impact of spiritual support on health and well-being, especially for our elders. It not only aids in recovery and but also enhances quality of life, and boosts satisfaction scores, benefiting both residents and healthcare communites. Yet, there's a poignant gap in spiritual care; many long-term care residents feel spiritually underserved. This is where FaithFirst™ steps in, addressing the unmet need for multi-faith spiritual support, especially crucial for those nearing life's end. FaithFirst is a lifeline for the spirit, filling a void that's been too long overlooked. 🙏 https://lnkd.in/gyTDvqby

Medical Science, Spirituality, and Religion Series. Part 3: Spirituality Assessment Several years ago, I had the opportunity of conducting home visits and home-based care for some terminally -ill patients. On few occasions, I noticed that family members isolated the sick patients in a room, with minimal care or interactions, only to look in once in a while, to know if he or she is still breathing . Nomatter what they believe in, as people approach the end of their lives, they try to find meaning to life , and what happens afterwards. That is a spiritual need. Spiritual Assessment and care should be part of the the comprehensive care given to terminally-ill patients, to enable them to die a dignified death. There are some valid tools used in Spirituality Assessment, (H.O.P.E, S.P.I.R.I.T etc) Family members and Healthcare workers should be aware of this need in patients, and try as much as to meet it. #nigeria #medical #health #religion

On Juneteenth therapists can honor their clients and the therapeutic relationship by: 1. Do not assume you understand the impact on this day. 2. Do not put the responsibility of education on your clients. It is your job to educate yourself. 3. Attend trainings 4. Acknowledge what you do not know or understand 5. Hold space for pain, anger, confusion, etc. 6. Be aware of and acknowledge your privilege. Healing comes when we acknowledge history, current events, and impact. Healing can not happen if we dig our heads in the sand and avoid the truth. Today we can honor by allowing space for healing!
