I've never been a fan of setting goals at the year's end (or beginning 🫣) – it just doesn't work for me. 🚫 (Be honest, how does your list look like by the end of March? 🙄) But here's what does work for me: at the end of each month, I take a moment to reflect on the past 30 days. It's amazing to realize how much can happen in just a month! 🗓️ I think about the great things that occurred, the incredible people I met, moments of joy, my failures, my successes, how I cared for myself and others, how others cared about me, and the overall balance in my life (yes, including all those weekly 'seasons' us women experience! 😄). This monthly check-in helps train my brain to focus on the positives and find ways to improve. 🧠💪 Does it work every time? No. But since I started doing this, I've definitely seen progress. 🌱📈 So, I'm inviting you to join me on this journey. Let's ditch the yearly pressure and embrace monthly reflections. You might be surprised by how much you grow! 🌟 📌Register here: https://lnkd.in/gihen-DH #QuietTenacity #MonthlyReflections #MindfulLiving #GrowthJourney #SelfCare #Immigrants #Diversity #Inclusion #Belonging #ProfessionalDevelopment #Career #Success #Progress #Future

Technology was created to enhance our life and enjoy it. Why do people care so much about capturing a video of the Arc de Triomphe lighting up in a million colors and posting it on social media? Why do they prefer this over putting their phones away and cheer, hug, kiss and laugh with their friends/family? Imagine the following conversation: - Gustav: "so where did you spend NYE?" - Gregoire: "at Champs Elysées, it was awesome man, so many people, lights, colors, fireworks. Here... look at this video I capture" (... shows video) -Gustav: "that's fantastic. Who did you get to kiss or at least hug?" ** awkward silence ** -Gregoire: "... but look at the lights, breathtaking!!!" ** awkward silence ** It's genuinely sad to see this plethora of people putting social media front and center in their lives, rather than living the moment and sharing it with their loved ones. (PS: I made up the names, no reference to an actual person is being made...)
A Stubborn Digital Optimist, Impatient Learner, Enthusiastic Beginner, Possibleist & Common Sense Practioner
We (Humans) used to celebrate the New Year with hugs, kisses, sing songs, dancing and expressions of joy and celebration; now it seems we just video fireworks for clicks on Social like here in Paris ( -1 million people) on the Champs Elysees 🤷 So much for being present and living the moment; (fair play to the couple mid/bottom right for sharing an "old school" embrace and kiss 😊) I love technology and am a committed digital optimist; however, we may have to redefine what it is to be "Human."

St. Patrick's Day- things to do and see! 🍀 St. Patrick's Day festivities can infuse the day with both cultural richness and a sense of community. Here's a strategy to maximize the celebration: 🌟 Begin with a local event. Many towns host parades and community gatherings. Begin your day with the local flair, experiencing the vibrant floats, music, and performances often dedicated to Irish culture. 🌈 Broaden your cultural knowledge while having fun. Dive into the history of St. Patrick's Day, perhaps through a book or documentary. Sharing this newfound knowledge can spark engaging conversations. 🎶 Embrace Irish music. Whether it means attending a live concert, listening to traditional Irish tunes, or even learning a jig or two, music is a powerful way to connect with the essence of the celebration. 🥘 Explore Irish cuisine. Try your hand at cooking traditional dishes like corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, or soda bread. Share your culinary adventure or the final results in your post! 🤝 Connect with your Irish roots or create new traditions. If you have Irish ancestry, consider delving into your heritage, or if not, create new traditions with friends and family. 🏡 End the day reflecting on the connections made, the joy shared, and the memories created. Wrap up your post by emphasizing the spirit of unity that St. Patrick's Day can foster. #StPatricksDay #IrishCulture #CommunityCelebration In sharing your St. Patrick's Day activities, you offer a blend of personal involvement and cultural appreciation that resonates universally. It's about more than just a day on the calendar; it's an opportunity to celebrate heritage and community everywhere.
