Visit to 3M Singapore by Two Ministers and Senior Govโt Officials On Tuesday 12th September, 3M Singapore proudly hosted a VVIP Government visit to our Customer Innovation Center (CIC) at Ang Mo Kio. Not only one, but TWO Singapore Ministers participated in the successful visit: Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, and Senior Minister of State (Sustainability and Transport), Dr. Amy Khor. The Ministers were accompanied by the Ministryโs Permanent Secretary, the Chief Science Technology Officer as well as the newly appointed Government Chief Sustainability Officer โ the latter overseeing the Singapore Governmentโs โSG Green Plan 2030โ and all its associated Sustainability targets, roadmaps, and plans. Aside from a presentation and discussion between 3M and the Ministry delegation, focusing on 3Mโs Sustainability Framework and our specific Sustainability initiatives in Singapore, the visit also included a CIC tour and showcase of 3M technologies as well as an informal networking session between the two Ministers and 3M employees from both 3M Tuas and Woodlands plants, respectively. It was a great opportunity to talk about our use of Renewable Energy and the solar rooftop installations at Tuas and Woodlands sites, our zero landfill-site status at Tuas, our implementation of smart energy management projects and, finally, our dedicated CSR work in Singapore, engaging with communities in which we operate. The value to 3M from this type of high-level government engagements is both significant and long-term. The engagements are important to develop key relationships and inform political decision-makers about how 3M is contributing to the broader, societal agenda โ beyond margins and profits. Similarly, the visits give us new ideas as to how we can partner Government and continue deliver on our purpose. More than 30 3Mโers were involved in the visit! Iโd like to take the opportunity to thank all for their contributions! No single person could have achieved this alone โ there are so many moving parts โ yet we lifted and delivered. Together. For 3M! Forwarded: Jannik Termansen Yammer

Singapore Green Plan 2030: Moving towards energy efficient and sustainable future for businesses! How do businesses play a part in the Singapore Green Plan 2030? The topic goes around decarbonisation, renewable energy, clean energy (solar power), net zero and the list goes on. By lowering carbon emissions, it supports the climate changes, sustainable and liveable environment to our future generation. It also helps businesses to save operation costs in the long-term. Not every company could build an ideal green building from scratch, there are other ways to implement it. Building owners can relook into their building plans and work with the experts for recommendations. During Singapore Budget 2024, it was announced that Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) is extended to more industries to help businesses to adopt energy efficient equipment and solutions.ย So, what are you waiting for? At AtoZero.Official, Asiaโs premier, industry-led, practical platform dedicated to net zero energy transition, our representatives Raymond Lee and Haoxin Xu attended the conference to engage and exchange knowledge with fellow energy professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders on the topics of sustainable energy and net-zero transitions. ย Key takeaways from the event: ๐ To achieve Net Zero by 2050 as committed by all ASEAN countries, the need for bankable renewable energy projects in the region is apparent. The message is clear that there is no shortage of funding from funds or government in pursuit of achieving Net Zero โ working together to present bankable cases is key. ๐ Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage #CCUS is a necessary measure to help achieve net zero but how proven is the technical solution? Learning from countries with first-mover advantage is key to fast track the development. ๐ Major joint efforts have been put forward by governments, private sector stakeholders, agencies to explore the establishment of cross-border CO2 value chain, enabling the future credit market and CO2 transactions. ๐ Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Alternative Fuels (AF) while currently challenged by high costs, could be looking at commercial scale deployment around 2030, driving strong commitment in #decarbonisation of the maritime and aviation industries. This could also encourage value chain development of CO2 utilisation for synthetic fuel. ๐ The ASEAN Regional Grid (ARG) can play a vital role in renewable energy deployment in the region thus benefitting the economic efficiency of participating countries in the long run. Distinctive power pricing system in each country is currently one of the major challenges facing ARG deployment, calling for collaborative and smart pricing mechanism to move forward. ย Denmark is at the forefront of recognising the pivotal role of CCUS in addressing climate change and has committed substantial funding to create a conducive environment to accelerate the development of CCUS. ย At Ramboll, we have conducted more than a hundred studies from pre-feasibility through to FEED stage for hard-to-abate and energy sectors. ย For more in-depth discussions, drop Raymond Lee and Haoxin Xu a message on Linkedin.
