We know that at today's pace of change, it will take 200-250 years for entrepreneurs of color to achieve wealth equality with their white counterparts. Without access to capital, these entrepreneurs face additional challenges to start or expand a business, limiting their ability to compete in the marketplace, and grow wealth.   It’s been nearly two years since Avanade first partnered with Prosperity Now to disrupt the financial systems that hold entrepreneurs of color back, and now we’re co-sponsoring the Rise Challenge to further that goal. Participants can submit proposals that leverage solutions like #AI to enhance the reach and efficiency of Community Financial Development Institutions (CDFIs) – all while driving more successful outcomes and an economy that works for everyone.   I encourage everyone who is passionate about this cause to either bring their bold thinking to the Rise Challenge, or to share it with your network to broaden its impact. $20M in 20 Days Challenge - We FAILED???!!! I and a group of 20 of my Mastermind members tried to raise $20M in 20 business days. We're on Day 17 and we only managed to raise $6M. That's capital from private investors or high networth individuals. But guess what? Several of my Mastermind members found me INSTITUTIONAL CAPITAL. When I add the BIG money investors they found, the total capital lined up is $126M. ($120M came from institutional investors and $6M from private investors) I spoke with the BIG money investors and I am now trying to decide who to work with. It can take a few weeks to finalize everything but the $20M in 20 Days Challenge is NOT a failure. It's a resounding SUCCESS as technically, we exceeded our target. One thing I realized is that raising BIG money is actually EASIER than raising smaller amounts of money. There's more money chasing BIG deals than there are BIG deals.
