President, CEO - Freeing all Canadian captive advisors/clients. Improving Canadians knowledge of Corporate and Personal taxation, MCO Private Wealth
Don't say I didn't warn you Remember yesterday, when I told you theres about 10 companies you absolutely dont want to work with as an employee or client Well here is 5 It is extremely amusing when the employees defend themselves, "well it's not me" Then what are you still doing working there? To me, this is no different than being friends with a gang of thieves and saying "well they are nice guys, and I am not robbing anyone personally" This is called guilty by association I will continue to be a thorn in the side of publicly traded companies. Many of their employees are great people, being destroyed by manipulative sales tactics I don't hate the player, I hate the game If you work for any of these banks, please reach out, we are here to educate and offer support If you are a client of any of these banks, reach out, we will show you how much better you can do for yourself, and for your family MCO Private Wealth Screwing ourselves out of sales through honesty That's the only way it should be If you work at an institution and have a story to tell, you can tell me in private. I'll spill the beans, with no mentioning of personal names. I am not afraid I can't lose my job #CFP #honesty #integrity

Which case won? Was the bank customer who withdrew $2 million he didn’t have guilty of a crime? by Molly Hayter In March 2010 a 22-year-old customer of St George Bank opened a new account at the bank’s Goulburn branch. The new account was marketed – all too aptly, as it turned out – as a “Complete Freedom” account and was essentially a savings account with no overdraft facility. However, the staff member who opened the account wrongly marked it as having a “relationship officer” assigned to it. The role of the bank’s relationship officers was to approve or disallow withdrawals beyond the available credit limit of the accounts for which they were responsible. The bank did not normally assign relationship officers to retail accounts such as the Complete Freedom account. The absence of a relationship officer meant that the customer was able to withdraw money which he did not have. The customer became aware of this glitch in the bank’s systems some months after opening the account and proceeded to withdraw increasingly large sums via electronic transfers, cash withdrawals and direct debit facilities until August 2012, when the bank finally discovered the extent of his indebtedness. By this point the account was overdrawn by $2.18 million, which included a substantial sum for interest that the bank had charged on the withdrawals that the bank itself had permitted. By the time the man was arrested, he had spent the withdrawn funds buying an Aston Martin, a Maserati, a Hyundai, an Alfa Romeo and a 6.1 metre boat, as well as paintings, jewellery and memorabilia. The man was charged with dishonestly obtaining a benefit by deception and dealing with the proceeds of crime. He pleaded not guilty and so it was up to the court to decide his innocence or guilt. The prosecution argued the man was calculating and dishonest, and that he knew he was not entitled to withdraw money which he did not have, while the defence pointed out that there had been no deception – the man didn’t lie to the bank at any point, didn’t forge anything and never used an alias or a disguise. Which case won? #BenefitByDeception #ProceedsOfCrime #overdraft #CreditLimit #BankGlitch #BankingGlitch #CriminalBehaviour #CriminalAct #AusLaw #law

I am frequently getting feedback from people who have gone through my dynamic conflict de-escalation training program, telling how the training worked for them, and I had a chance to get one on video! I was in the Nashville, TN, area for the Faith Based Security Network (FBSN) 5th annual Security Operations Summit, a church safety and security conference, and Dan approached me to share an experience he had and how he was able to avoid letting a bank teller set him off. Avoid getting frustrated, impatient or offended by someone, you only increase the likelihood that you will end up saying or doing something that will escalate the situation further! 1- Stay calm by taking a moment to take long, slow deep breaths 2- Recognize that there is no point in staying in contact with the person 3- Walk away #customerservice #bank #creditunion #deescalationtraining #professionaldevelopment https://lnkd.in/gashsQQa
