Observation, and would love your thoughts in comments. Observation. Discomfort, if Googled, shows internal pain, something that's inside a person. Comfort shows external luxuries, clothes, and things. What does this say about our culture? Is this why so many individuals who come to me for coaching to obtain "happiness" have it so confused about where happiness really is? This question raises an important point about our society and the way we perceive happiness. It seems that there is a prevalent misconception about what truly brings happiness and fulfillment in life. Perhaps it is the influence of our consumer-driven culture, which bombards us with messages that material possessions and external achievements are the keys to happiness. This constant barrage of messages may lead individuals to believe that buying more things or reaching certain milestones will bring them the happiness they seek. However, as many people realize, this pursuit of external validation and material gain often leaves them feeling empty and unfulfilled. It begs the question, why do we place so much emphasis on external factors when it comes to happiness? Is it because our culture values success and achievement above all else? Or is it because we are constantly comparing ourselves to others and seeking validation through our possessions and accomplishments? These are complex questions that require further exploration. p.s.
