⚡️A new celebrity beverage company has entered the chat. Introducing Más by Messi… For those who don’t follow sports or live under a rock, the face of this drink is Lionel Messi. He is one of the most famous, internationally known professional footballers of all time. The LeBron James of soccer, if you will. Messi has partnered with Mark Anthony Brands, parent company of White Claw & Mike’s Hard Lemonade, to create a new hydration beverage. Between drinks like Gatorade, BodyArmor, & Paul’s Prime, to say there’s big competition in the market would be an understatement. Attaching a celebrity name to a beverage doesn’t guarantee success. Though, it’s wise for the brand to step further into the non-alcoholic beverage space after launching White Claw 0% Alcohol Seltzer. Más by Messi is a low-sugar drink with electrolytes & vitamins. There are no artificial sweeteners, colors or caffeine. According to CNN, its 4 flavors include Miami Punch, in honor of his current team Inter Miami, & Orange d’Or, for his 8x winning of the Ballon d’Or trophy. This broadens their beverage portfolio, as young adults in the USA are consuming less alcohol than previous decades. “Hydration & energy drinks are projected to be a $60 billion market by 2032, growing roughly 6% annually,” according to Precedence Research. 🛒How to get your hands on it: •Available cans & bottles in Miami on 6/13 •For purchase on its website in July •Within US supermarkets in August •Global launch later this year 💭Will this be the new contender & potential rival in the drink world? Arielle Berlinsky Messi's name will draw consumers in, but ultimately the product has to deliver.

Interesting! It has potential, Mark Anthony brands are pioneers in their field, Miami is a city where Messi is well positioned and the trend of decrease in alcohol comsuption amongst young people will be factors that might help it succeed! Good stuff, thanks for sharing!

I'm sure my kids will beg me to buy it, so I know we'll at least try it once...

Bigger than anything this is reinforcing the power of the personal brand. Love the move to speak to the spanish speaking market directly with the brand name. The video on his IG drives in that focus. His influence is unmatched especially among hispanic consumers. With 503 million followers on one platform, he'll definitely take this brand to heights they never imagined.

Celebrities and influencers have so many product lines that they own these days - it's crazy. I truly don't understand how some people buy something just because the brand is celebrity-owned. There's a beauty podcast I listen to and they often roast the celeb-owned makeup brands. Good marketing does not always equal a great product unfortunately.

If it's a great product, it will do great. Especially given his fame/reputation and the previous successes of its parent company. I'm always skeptical of new sports drinks because most of them taste like 🍑 to me.
