What does medical coverage look like at your health and fitness expo? How many sports do you have competing? Are any of those sports considered combat sports? Where are you locating your medical professionals? What are the credentials of your medical professionals? What does the venue require? Is that truly the coverage your event needs?
There are a million other questions that can and should be asked and answered. While some questions may seem straight forward, the truth is they aren't.
Many venues require you to provide medical services in the form of EMS/EMTs/Paramedics or to utilize their contracted EMS staff. While EMS does a fantastic job with life saving emergencies, their calling is not everyday sports injuries. What happens when someone sprains an ankle, breaks their arm, has a turf burn or abrasion, or breaks a nose? Are they set-up to tape ankles, assess an injury, or provide ice for athletes?
That is where someone like Elite 7 Sports Medicine comes in. By setting up a central medical location and providing roaming athletic trainers, we are visible and able to monitor sports, communicate with the various teams, and provide support when injuries happen. It allows us to support your event, the athletes competing, and takes the pressure of the organizations and EMS, allowing them to focus on what they do and giving us the ability to do what we do best...and all while working together to provide the best care for each athlete.
As you start planning for your next event, let us know how we can help.
