This one’s for my 9-5 gals & boys ... Here are 10 things you should be grateful for: 🖤Embracing the stability that comes with having a routine. 🖤Weekends off – times to recharge. 🖤Closing your laptop at 5 and calling it a day. 🖤Paid holidays, a luxury not every job gives. 🖤The flexibility of office/remote working/co-working. 🖤Work-life balance. 🖤You have support from your team and peers. 🖤Opportunity for professional growth. 🖤Learn from other team members. 🖤A regular income - financial stability, peace of mind. Each of these points is a reminder of the often-overlooked perks that come with the 9-5 grind. I’ve been in a position where I worked every weekend. I didn’t have a set routine. I had no work-life balance. and couldn’t switch off. For me, the trade-offs were not worth it. What does your routine look like?

How many people out there have a job that requires them to work through the weekend and they end up “working for the mid-end”? By “mid-end” I mean a mid-week employment break filled with appointments, errands, yard work, and a wee bit of leisure time that is created in response to a career that requires complete attention and usually more than 40 hours a week during the weekends, the time “most” people have off. However, it seems like more and more this is an unrecognized and unappreciated time track that may be more normal than we realize. I have never heard this mid week break called anything specific in American culture but I nominate “mid-end” in the spirit of a weekend break that, like a “mid-end” car or trade good is adequately between a “high end” or a “low end” and in its trade offs can range from adequate to advantageous. I would love to hear your thoughts on how to best leverage a “mid-end” schedule when our culture is set up for “weekend” culture.

Helping leaders and HR professionals build positive and productive workplace cultures through strength-based training | Sr. Client Strategist
Summer Fridays 🌞 aren't a new trend, but they have gained significant traction in our post COVID-19 culture. This workplace benefit allows employees to enjoy benefits such as shorter work hours or full days off on Fridays during the summer. Summer Fridays have been shown to boost employee satisfaction and enhance companies' recruitment and retention efforts. According to a survey by ADP, more than 66% of employees report feeling more productive following a Summer Friday. Summer Fridays can vary for each organization but are a great tool to help combat burnout during the summer months. If you work in an office, you could offer remote Fridays. If your organization is already remote, you could make Fridays meeting free. Summer Fridays don’t have to look the same for each company, but showing your employees you value them can have great long-term benefits. What is your company doing this summer to support employee well-being? Comment below 😀
