Thanks for sharing! On point #1, thinking from customer perspective, the cost per mile is a significant factor. From my previous research, the average cost per mile for personal cars, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation, ranges between $0.50 and $0.75. Traditional taxis cost between $2 and $3 per mile. For robotaxis, the average cost per mile is estimated between $0.24 and $0.40. Elon Musk has even predicted that EV robotaxi costs could be as low as $0.18 per mile. These estimates assume that robotaxis are produced at scale with low operational costs (no driver, optimized energy sources, etc.) and high utilization (operating 24/7). If these conditions are met, owning a car may not be justifiable if robotaxis offer such low per-mile costs, aside from the convenience of personal ownership. Curious to see what the future holds for the robotaxi market!
