The lines between AI and robotics are becoming increasingly indistinct, setting the stage for a smarter, more integrated future. We've reached a point where AI is not only trained on vast swaths of the internet but also on select offline sources. It can comprehend and generate images, understand and speak multiple languages, and much more. The integration of AI into robotics is also gaining momentum. We've already witnessed the emergence of human-like robots, such as the 1X series, and the remarkably advanced Tesla robot with its lifelike hands. Enter Google's latest innovation: the RT-X series of generalist robots. Unlike their specialized counterparts, these robots are trained on diverse datasets and have even acquired skills not explicitly taught to them. While they may not resemble humans, they represent the convergence of robotics and AI. For an in-depth look at these robots and the groundbreaking GPT4 Vision, check out this video: https://lnkd.in/e_84NASz For more information on DeepMind's robotic advancements, visit their blog: https://lnkd.in/eyB5UPE5 Many argue that the next frontier in AI—Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—requires embodiment. If that's the case, we might be closer to AGI than we think. Could it be just around the corner? Futurist Ray Kurzweil may need to revise his predictions for the technological singularity once more. What are your thoughts on these rapid advancements in AI and robotics? Are we on the cusp of achieving AGI?

GTC 2024 is shaping up to be an incredible event. This is the place to hear from industry experts on how they are applying AI to just about every domain. There will also be many hands-on labs and workshops on cutting-edge topics including large language models, computer vision, synthetic data generation, and generative AI. And of course, the "Connect with the Experts" sessions allow you to meet up with, well, the experts - in robotics and autonomous vehicles, tuning code for the latest GPU architectures, inter-GPU communication, simulation and so much more. For what it's worth, I expect to be giving a talk with a few of my colleagues on how neural graphics (e.g., NeRFs, Neuralangelo, etc.) can be utilized to build geospatially-accurate terrain databases that can be utilized in multiple applications from game engines to Omniverse. Hope to see you there! If you haven't already registered, you can use the link below and get 25% off! https://lnkd.in/eTFQqibe
