NURSE CAREER COACH-Nurses hire me to gain CONFIDENCE to SLAY their INTERVIEW & land their dream position in 90 days or less! Org hire me to retain Nurses!! Author & Speaker! Featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show!
What Nurses Do Not Know About the Current Job Search Market: 3 of the Biggest Mistakes to Avoid ✅ 1. Stop Applying for ALL THE Jobs: Quality over quantity is crucial. Applying to a large number of jobs indiscriminately can lead to burnout and reduce the chances of finding a good fit. Focus on roles that align with your skills, interests, and career goals. Tailored applications show employers that you are genuinely interested in their specific position, increasing the likelihood of getting noticed and called for an interview. Example: You CANNOT APPLY TO 5 different positions in different units at the same hospital because it confuses the recruiter/hiring manager! ✅ 2. Stop with the Generic Resume/Cover Letter: A generic resume and cover letter can make you blend in with other applicants. Customize each application with keywords to highlight relevant experiences and qualifications that match the job description. Tailor and personalize your resume and cover letter to the job description ✅ 3. Stop Waiting Around, Make It Happen: Proactively FOLLOW UP on your applications. A follow-up email or phone call can reinforce your interest in the position and keep you on the employer’s radar. Engage in continuous professional development and networking. Attend industry events, join professional organizations, and keep your skills up-to-date to stay competitive and uncover hidden job opportunities. 🌟 BONUS TIP 🌟 leverage your network!! You know more people than you think! Talk to friends, family and colleagues and let them know about your career goals/aspirations. #newgradrn #nursing #nursingstudent #nursecareercoach Book a call here to see who you can work with me: https://lnkd.in/d74gJdpZ

The #1 thing that tends to stand out on a nurse's resume is the resume summary. For nurses, you may be able to provide top notch care but may find it hard to capture that on paper to score the job you want. Here are a few things you should know about your resume summary to stand out amongst the rest: - Understand what the job involves Customize your summary specifically to the job you're applying to and familiarize yourself with the employer's job description. - Identify those essential skills Grab the hiring manager's attention quickly by vividly describing your qualities or work experience. Ex: Compassionate: Shows genuine care and empathy for patients. - Format your resume for easy scanning Keep your summary concise and informative. Most importantly, emphasize the value you can bring to the position or organization. - Balance measurable facts with descriptive details Include your soft skills and abilities in your resume summary but don't hesitate to include hard data. These are a few ways to make your resume stand out from the rest! PS: Write your summary statement last, after completing the rest of your resume. This allows you to base it on the information you've already included in other sections.

A well-crafted CV (Curriculum Vitae) is essential for nurses for several reasons: First Impression: A CV is often the first point of contact between you and a potential employer. A polished and professional CV creates a positive first impression, demonstrating your commitment to professionalism. Showcasing Skills and Qualifications: A CV allows you to highlight your education, qualifications, and skills. For a nurse, this might include your nursing degree, certifications, specific skills (e.g., critical care, trauma nursing), and any specialized training you've undertaken. Professional Experience: It provides a comprehensive overview of your work history. This section allows you to detail your experience, including roles, responsibilities, and accomplishments. This can be crucial for employers looking for candidates with specific experience or expertise. Demonstrating Continual Learning: If you've undertaken any additional courses, workshops, or certifications, a CV is the place to showcase them. This illustrates your commitment to ongoing professional development, a crucial aspect in healthcare where knowledge and practices evolve. Highlighting Achievements: A CV gives you the space to highlight specific achievements in your career. This could include successful projects, improvements in patient outcomes, or recognition and awards you've received. Tailoring for Specific Roles: You can customize your CV for different roles, emphasizing the skills and experiences most relevant to the position you're applying for. This can make your application more compelling and targeted. Building Trust: A well-organized and clear CV builds trust with potential employers. It shows that you take your career seriously and are willing to invest time in presenting yourself professionally. Networking Opportunities: Having a strong CV is crucial not only for job applications but also for networking. Whether you're attending conferences, joining professional organizations, or engaging in online communities, your CV is a tool to introduce yourself to potential colleagues and employers. Application Tracking Systems (ATS): Many employers use ATS to screen resumes and CVs. A well-structured CV with relevant keywords increases the chances of passing through these systems and reaching human eyes. Preparation for Interviews: Creating or updating your CV requires you to reflect on your career, achievements, and goals. This self-reflection can be valuable in preparing for interviews, helping you articulate your experiences and aspirations. In summary, a good CV is a powerful tool for a nurse, helping to market skills, experience, and qualifications effectively. It serves as a professional snapshot that can open doors to new opportunities in the healthcare field. #NursingCV #CareerDevelopment #Professionalism #HealthcareCareers #NurseSkills #ContinuousLearning #NurseAchievements Apply for a Career Abroad! https://lnkd.in/danhFEjX
