This was a nice primer on the economic challenges of using hydrogen for certain proposed uses. It’s important to understand the context - The format was in the form of a rebuttal to another lecture promoting hydrogen at the same school. However, it is useful content just the same. Michael Liebreich founded BloombergNEF and developed a “hydrogen ladder” showing which technologies are best suited for hydrogen use. He also hosts a podcast called Cleaning Up Podcast IMHO, Hydrogen is an important component of the energy transition, and will have key uses. We need an “all of the above” approach to decarbonization / net zero. However, some have proposed using hydrogen for many purposes where other solutions are more economically suitable.

The hottest topic in #energy right now is the expected surge in demand for #electricity. Now Google, Microsoft and Nucor have come up with an idea that could be at least part of the solution. They are collaborating on new commercial structures to help new clean energy technologies scale up and reduce the risk for investors.
