I'm actually a Climate Week NYC virgin! Having held the belief for many years that these types of events are simply preaching to the choir, and less about driving change. I want to be proven wrong! As I prepare to join my co-panellists on Wednesday to speak about Putting Climate Solutions on the agenda, I realise there is much to discuss, learn and change even within the climate community. - The World needs climate innovations and solutions, and thankfully they exist! But they need to scale at speed to reach net zero, however, so much in the climate space evolves around the big incumbent companies reducing their negative climate impact (needed but not enough!). - How can we come together to accelerate the adoption of climate solutions across industries and the World? - How can climate target setting evolve to include and even promote innovative climate solutions with high-growth replacing the status quo? Much needed for a net-zero World, but out of scope in frameworks today. - Is GHG reporting enough to drive impactful action when it only focuses on the impact within a company's scope 1-3 inventory? What about a companies efforts to change the system? Bringing innovative upgrades to peoples lives, where switching results in avoided emissions? Advocating for regulation that is future proof rather than the regulations we have now: outdated and built for another era? As a challenger company, disrupting the status quo (cow's milk) with delicious, nutritious, climate solutions (Oalty!), I look forward to meeting other challengers, innovators and like-minded companies during this week, to further the opportunities we have in scaling towards a net-zero World.

You can’t negotiate with science. The world just experienced the warmest 12 months in 125,000 years, and the economic damage caused by weather-related disasters is soaring. Climate Week NYC has been a helpful reality check highlighting the need to step up and convert sustainability goals into on-the-ground implementation. Tom Reichert, ERM’s CEO, and Sabine Hoefnagel, ERM’s Global Leader of Sustainability and Risk, explain that companies need to develop two things: a clear and crisp transition plan and, equally important, a compelling narrative for all their stakeholders, illustrating how the company will deliver value and become more resilient through decarbonizing the business. The weeks and months after Climate Week NYC will be crucial for continuing the discussions and taking the next steps—it’s time for us to make progress together. #ClimateWeekNYC #ClimateChange #Sustainability

At the heels of Climate Week, my colleague Sabine urges companies to do 2 things: 1. Develop a clear/crisp transition plan 2. Develop a clear and compelling narrative for their stakeholders

Understanding how to mobilize regenerative and sustainable practices during this decade of action can be a battle, especially as business leaders and portfolio managers look to implement a plan that targets specific, tangible, and measurable strategies. Gensler’s Climate Action studio shares four approaches that put organizations on a credible path to achieving climate goals as sustainable design becomes more fully integrated into business practices. https://lnkd.in/gptTTRn6 #ClimateAction #DesignForTheFuture #DesignForAll

When your firm states “You can’t negotiate with science” and you see that trickle down… consistently: Enough said. Just back from an inspiring and intense week in NYC for Climate Week! I’m more motivated than ever to be part of the solution. 🌍✨ One key takeaway that really resonated with me: if we want to truly accelerate climate action, we need to focus on the intersection of three critical areas: 1. Credible Transition Plans: Businesses must lay out robust and realistic pathways to sustainability, beyond buzzwords. 2. Financial Quantification of Sustainability: Capital follows clarity. Making the financial benefits of sustainability tangible is essential to attract investment and drive meaningful change. 3. Responsible Policy Engagement: We need policies that enable and guide the transition, shaped by proactive engagement from all sectors. Only by aligning these three elements can we unlock the kind of systemic transformation we need. Let’s collaborate, innovate, and hold ourselves accountable—because this moment demands nothing less. What are your thoughts on how we can better bring these pieces together? #ClimateWeekNYC #Sustainability #ClimateAction #TransitionPlans #ESG #ImpactInvesting #PolicyEngagement

In our pursuit of climate action, we recognize the critical need for ample resources, both financial and non-financial. Every individual, corporation, and organization has a crucial role to play in advancing the path towards achieving net-zero emissions. Regardless of whether your efforts focus on mitigation, building resilience, or both, each endeavor deserves commendation. Yet, it's vital to acknowledge that the power of partnerships in climate action is paramount; individual efforts alone won't suffice. Through collaboration, we can forge strategic alliances that significantly accelerate our journeys towards net-zero emissions. Our proposition to you is that we stand ready as such a partner, fully committed to joining forces with you in this vital endeavor." #BioClimate #climatechangelitigation #environmentalconsciousdrafting #predisputeresolution #esg #sustainability

Navigating climate targets, reporting, and disclosures can be quite intricate, yet an overwhelming majority of the world's top 250 companies are actively reporting on sustainability. Remarkably, 63% of the globe's 2000 largest companies have embraced a net zero target. Amidst escalating regulations, heightened customer expectations, and investor pressures related to climate concerns, the imperative of managing climate goals and disclosures is expanding. It's a widespread priority. Come join our very own, Samuel Shiroff, Senior Director of Global Sustainability, and discover how your organization can tackle these challenges by participating in the Verdantix Climate Summit North America, set to unfold in Washington DC on February 20th and 21st! https://lnkd.in/gn54vpXb #ClimateAction #Sustainability #NetZeroJourney #ESG #CorporateResponsibility
