Wishing everyone a day filled with sun, food, and good company celebrating this 4th of July. Considering we're a company with a dog at the center of our brand, we'd be remiss not to mention a few friendly reminders when it comes to our furry companions this time of year. 1. Make sure to keep your pets inside. Fireworks are loud and often scary for our pets - reduce runaways by keeping them secured in your home. (Not-so-fun fact: the 4th of July has the highest record of pet runaways) 2. Tired dogs are happy dogs. Try and exercise your pet so they're more relaxed and less wound up when the fireworks start going off. (If you're in an area experiencing a heat wave, try some indoor activities (like sniffing games and indoor fetch). 3. Create a safe and quiet place. Try making their kennel extra cozy by draping a throw over the top, or provide plenty of blankets to burrow. 4. Try giving them a high value treat to occupy them while the fireworks are happing. Like a new bone, or a snuffle mat to keep them busy. We hope you and your furry family stay safe, have fun, and celebrate our country proudly! P.S. Enjoy AI's take on dogs at a 4th of July barbecue!

👻 Trick-or-treating is a Halloween staple for children and adults alike! But don't forget about our pets who might be just as excited to get in on the fun. 🐶 When it comes to Halloween candy, it's important to remember that not all treats are safe for our four-legged friends. 🍫 Chocolate, for example, can be toxic for dogs and should be avoided at all costs. 🤕 Fortunately there are plenty of dog-friendly treats that can be enjoyed during the spooky season. 🍬 Carob, pumpkin or peanut butter based treats are a great alternative to chocolate, as they are non-toxic and can still satisfy a sweet tooth. 🤤 Check out Petfolk 's Petfolklore Blog, medically reviewed by Dr. Jeff Speicher for some great #Halloween tips! #Petfolk #HalloweenCandy #DogFriendlyTreats #DogSafety #veterinarymedicine

Keeping Your Furry Friends Safe This 4th of July 🐶❤️🐱 The 4th of July is a time for celebration, but it can also be stressful for our furry companions! Loud noises and unfamiliar sights can cause anxiety and even lead pets to escape. Here are some tips to keep your pet safe and happy this holiday: Preparation is Key: - Update your pet's ID tags: Make sure your pet's ID tag has your current phone number so you can be easily reached if they escape. - Microchip your pet: If your pet isn't microchipped, consider doing so before the festivities. Microchips provide a permanent form of identification that can help reunite you with your pet if they get lost. - Create a safe space: Provide a quiet room in your house with familiar toys, bedding, and maybe even some calming music to create a sate haven for your pet during fireworks. - Exercise your pet beforehand: A tired pet is a less anxious pet. Take your furry friend for a good walk or playtime before the fireworks start. During the festivities: - Keep your pet indoors: This is the safest option, especially if your pet is noise-sensitive. - Close windows and blinds: Muffle the sounds of fireworks as much as possible. -Stay calm and reassuring: Your pet picks up on your emotions. If you stay calm and relaxed, it will help to keep them calm too. - Consider calming aids: Talk to your veterinarian about calming aids or anxiety wraps that may help your pet during stressful situations. Remember: - Never leave your pet unattended outside during fireworks displays. - Avoid using fireworks around your pet. - Be mindful of food and drinks: Keep alcoholic beverages and foods that are toxic to pets out of reach. By following these tips, you can help ensure your pet has a safe and happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 #fourthofjuly #petsafety #pets #dogs #cats #horses #drrosedvm #veterinarymedicine #vetmed #harmonyroseanimalwellness
