Founder & CEO, HerKey | Building India's largest career engagement platform for women. Managed by Team HerKey
Building a strong support system is key to success, both professionally and personally. At work, we rely on paid staff to help us achieve our goals. Why shouldn't we do the same at home? Yes, hiring household help like a nanny or cook may seem like a significant expense, but it's an investment in our future. By freeing up time and energy, we can focus on advancing our careers and pursuing our passions. In the long run, the growth in our career will far outweigh the initial costs. Moreover, becoming a job creator within our own homes is a powerful way to make an impact. By providing employment opportunities, we not only support our families but also contribute to the larger economy. So let go of the guilt and embrace the idea of hiring help at home. It's not just about convenience—it's about investing in our success and well-being. Here's to building strong support systems and thriving both professionally and personally! #SupportSystem #CareerInvestment #JobCreation

I haven't approved a single request for annual leave since becoming the CEO of Scotty's. Why? Because we trust our team to manage their own time. They know what work they have on. They know the deadlines. They know what leave other people on the team already have booked in. So we leave it to them to book their time-off into the calendar. It's all shared for transparency, but we're putting the onus on them to make the right decision about when to take leave. If you're finding the right people, you should be able to trust them to manage their own time without it needing to be 'approved' by someone else. When you introduce little things like this, not only does it help others feel more trusted, it also saves a bunch of time on wasted admin! What's the one piece of pointless admin you'd most like to eliminate from your work life?

Summer is not a vacation for working parents. 😎 I will argue it is the hardest season for parents and employers need to understand this. - It's logistics/coordination heavy - camps, playdates, nanny coordination, pick-up/drop-offs - It's lots extra housework - more groceries, more laundry, more kid stuff everywhere - It's longer days - the sunlight makes for longer evening and kids who are off schedule - It's vacation & trip planning and coordination EMPLOYERS : - Your work from home capabilities allows families to flex during this season and be able to still provide an enriching summer experience for their kids - Your early Friday outs are appreciated to head home and tackle that extra load of laundry or make a Costco run to stock the snack draw - Your grace and understanding that many parents (specifically moms) are managing a whole household of people that are usually at school HOW I AM ADJUSTING 💪 : - Waking up and working in the morning to snag a few extra hours that I might lose during day - Focusing each day with Top 3 Things I need to get done before anything else - Staying connected with my team by communicating what is going on to manage expectations

In the hustle of business life, I want to take a moment to recognize the unsung heroes who are one of the most important groups of people in our operations - our office admin teams. My respect and admiration for them has only deepened over the years because they: 1. Educate us: on invaluable insights on ground-level realities, areas for improvement, ineffective processes, and solutions that will benefit our people. 2. Guide us: on our “people” (employees, customers, and vendors), the naughty kids, those who need help but won’t ask, and those looking for a pat on their back. 3. Protect us: by preventing our calendars from being hijacked, helping us manage logistics and avoid chaos. 4. Support us: beyond their daily tasks, they become our confidants, trusted advisors, and sometimes even our informal therapists. 5. Energize us: by bringing positive energy to the entire team and keep the wheels moving in the right direction. 6. Deliver: by consistently going above and beyond, they work tirelessly to simply get things done!! I extend heartfelt gratitude to all the admin teams that have supported me throughout my career. Next time you pass by their desks, I encourage you to take a moment to say hello, share, listen, learn, and most importantly THANK!! them for everything they do to make us successful. #admin #people #team #operations #appreciation

Your summer staff are arriving! Having new team members is exciting, but before you put them to work, ensure they are prepared. And remember... "new workers" are people of any age who have been in a job or role within their workplace for less than 6 months. These individuals are at an increased injury; 3x more likely to be hurt within the first month of their new role. #healthandsafety #training #seasonalwork
