I'm a huge proponent of experimental revenue models for publishers, fully believing that the lack of "creative" monetization ideas (ads or subs!) of the past is partly responsible for the current struggles in the industry. Busy day of moves for GAM Investments, with two highly-rated investment teams moving to new homes (and taking their funds with them). Jupiter Asset Management has pulled off something of a coup with Adrian Gosden and Chris Morrison making the switch, while also retaining responsibility for their ~£400m UK Equity Income fund. Should institutional investors be able to own single family homes? Rep. Adam Smith and Sen. Jeff Merkely have introduced the “End Hedge Fund Control of American Homes Act”. Asset managers with over $50 million in AUM will be required to divest of all single family assets or pay a 50% tax on the value of each home.
