I remember a theater director once imparting a valuable insight to me, saying, "If you've ever had a conversation with someone that you didn't plan on having that conversation with, you've done improv." Those words struck a chord with me, as they highlighted the ubiquitous nature of improvisation in our daily lives. It's true; life often throws unexpected scenarios our way, and we must adapt and respond in the moment, just as improvisational actors do on stage. Whether it's navigating spontaneous discussions, tackling unforeseen challenges, or embracing the unpredictability of life itself, we are all, in some way, engaging in the art of improvisation. It's a reminder that the skills honed in theater can be profoundly applicable to the world beyond the stage, fostering adaptability, quick thinking, and creativity in our everyday interactions.
I also get to use improv for fun and entertainment. Read our current newsletter for details: https://conta.cc/44XYcfy
