Today I was watching Google India reseach connect with Jeffdean Where at the beginning of presentation they mentioned about Responsible Development of AI that they had published in 2018. Where they tried to answer questions like how do we, as a society, think about fairness? About building inclusive experiences? About equipping the workforce for the jobs of the future? And also they have interesting column like Actions to encourage responsible use of AI and activities to considers. Here are the few key points from the report: 1. AI principles to guide the development and application of AI in a responsible way. These principles cover areas like social benefit, safety, fairness, privacy, accountability, and scientific excellence. 2. Research and releasing tools to advance AI interpretability, security, privacy, and fairness. Examples include open-sourcing frameworks like Tensorflow and Facets. 3. Make AI accessible to everyone by publishing research, releasing open source tools, sharing datasets, and offering educational resources. Google Cloud also provides AI services to developers. 4. When considering distributing technologies that could be misused, considering weighs factors like the uniqueness of the technology, potential for harm, and their level of involvement. 5. Engages with experts and co-founded the Partnership on AI to facilitate discussion on AI's influence on society. 6. Policymakers can encourage the responsible use of AI by: - Boosting public understanding and confidence - Stimulating AI uptake in industries - Funding research to tackle barriers - Encouraging data sharing - Promoting governance frameworks - Using government as a role model - Preparing workforces for transition 7. Specific policy suggestions are provided in each of those areas.
