A 2 min survey, about such an important topic. We are all struggling with finding the right people to put on the right place. Let’s support each other, let’s understand each other.
The EUCROF Talent and Engagement working group is interested to get your perspective on the industry standard of ‘2 years experience’ as a basline need for working in clinical research. Please take a minute to complete this survey and share your experience and insights. https://lnkd.in/eyzry3za
Do you think demanding 2 years' experience from entry level candidates is an arbitrary measure?

I had an insightful day at the Women of Color in Pharma (WOCIP) Micro-conference on Monday, November 6th. The event spanned from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MST and covered a multitude of topics, from mentorship and allies to perfecting our elevator pitches. It was truly empowering to hear these people of color sharing their journeys to attain high-ranking positions in their careers. The conference featured enlightening panels with a diverse range of speakers, including experts in mental health, those who've recently entered the pharmaceutical industry, students in graduate studies, seasoned professionals, and specialists who provided insights into what internships are seeking in candidates. The breakout sessions sprinkled throughout allowed us to engage in meaningful conversations. One of the standout moments for me was when Dr. LaToya Coffey (LaToya Coffey, PhD) shared her personal journey, emphasizing the significance of even small job experiences in shaping one's career trajectory. Her story, particularly the doubts she encountered during her PhD, and her mentor's advice to persevere, resonated with me. I've faced significant uncertainty in my own path. However, Dr. Coffey's insights underscore the importance of understanding the greater value of shifting career experiences in the broader context. One of the questions posed to Dr. Coffey that particularly resonated with me was: "How were you able to differentiate between the doubt to persevere and the doubt indicating a need for a change in your career?" This question beautifully encapsulates the essence of self-reflection and decision-making that many of us encounter on our career journeys. Other notable panelists were Dr. Lisa Carlton (Lisa D. Carlton, Ph.D.) and Dr. Joseph Lunyera (Joseph L.) who shared their wisdom on self-discovery, active listening, understanding different perspectives, and career exploration. It's reassuring to know that the journey of self-discovery and career development is a constant process for many, including myself. In summary, the WOCIP Micro-conference was an enriching experience, providing valuable insights and perspectives on career growth, diversity, and self-discovery. The lessons and conversations will undoubtedly continue to influence my career path. Thank you Michelle Adams for this amazing opportunity. As co-PI of the Leveraging, Enhancing and Developing Biology (LED-BIO) Scientific Societies Shedding Light on Persistent Cultural Challenges team, I invite you to join us for our Virtual Town Hall event. There will be a total of three Town Halls, to be held October 4-6, 2023.
