Yesterday we pitched our idea's and insights on secure bike parking to NMBS. Secure bike parking is hot as bikes are no longer the "poor man's car" and have become a primary means of transport and even have emotional value. The Trenitalia trains in Italy had 3 specific well designed carriages for #bicycles & #ebikes with #charginginfrastructure, #hvac and employees who welcomed cyclists. The cost to take your bike was €3.50 per day and was no hassle. This is how public transport should be to encourage #activetravel, #netzero #tranportation & #commuting. Also on Busworld - Exhibitions, I today took part of Digital Mobility Solutions Conference that was co-hosted by ERTICO - ITS Europe, ITxPT and Espaces-Mobilités. Interesting talks from the panel on different perspectives on #MaaS. In the panel that was moderated by Roelof Hellemans were Philippe Le Cerf, Eric Callé, Fernando A., Tu-Tho Thai, Aurelien Cottet and Anna Grönlund. It seems to me that there still are hurdels to overcome in order to establish MaaS on a larger scale. Business rules, business models, standardization, agreements and many other things is yet to handle. 📈 The MegaBITS team is pleased to see our partners in the Provincie Antwerpen continue implementing initiatives to improve their cycling infrastructure! 📄 In recent years, the F106 has become too narrow due to increased traffic, its surface has become outdated and crossings are becoming increasingly unsafe. To better understand which areas of the F106 need improvement, the Provincie Antwerpen has launched a participation platform where citizens can share their ideas and comments. 🚴♂️ This participation platform is part of Provincie Antwerpen pilot project within MegaBITS, which aims to increase awareness and usage of the F106 through transparent communication with citizens. The data collected will then be used by engineering companies to make the necessary changes based on citizens' requests.
