Over the past few years, we have seen a major increase in interview process timelines. According to an article by Monster, the average interview process for a white-collar position in 2023 could be up to 44 calendar days, and we have personally experienced processes lasting up to 6 months! This lengthy extension has led to an increase in candidates withdrawing from interviews and declining job offers. This trend is impacting both in-house talent acquisition departments and agency recruiters alike. Organizations are adding more steps, such as 5 rounds of intensive interviews with more interviewers added to the process, comprehensive skills assessments, and personality testing, which drastically extend the hiring process. The prolonged timelines leave candidates feeling uncertain, increasing the likelihood of declined offers due to diminished trust in the organization, and ultimately resulting in these positions remaining unfilled for extended periods. While the intention behind extending interview timelines is to ensure thorough vetting, this trend highlights the need for companies to streamline their processes to balance thoroughness with efficiency. Do you believe a lengthy interview process more effectively ensures the organization is securing the best talent? Or is this trend likely to negatively impact the candidate market moving forward? Check out this article from Monster highlighting how to streamline the interview process to keep candidates engaged: https://lnkd.in/eeWcgPNz
