Structural and policy changes of this magnitude must be considered through an open, transparent process that includes public hearings and a thorough review of the impact on biomedical research. The ADA does not support provisions to restructure the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the fiscal year 2025 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. In Science Magazine today, The National Institutes of Health Director Monica Bertagnolli announces two new NIH initiatives launched to help translate scientific advances into better healthcare. The first -- designed to better integrate scientific research into clinical care and community settings -- is Communities Advancing Research Equity (CARE) for Health. "Rather than sticking to a narrow suite of studies determined by researchers centrally," writes Bertagnolli, "the network will offer a wider menu of studies, allowing more patients and providers more choice to participate in, and influence, those studies most relevant to their needs and the needs of their communities." A second initiative will establish NIH’s National Library of Medicine (NLM) as a focal point to accelerate data sharing and use and to advance health-related data science. "...full implementation of this policy requires new approaches and resources that can integrate data from basic and social science research, public health, and clinical care," says Bertagnolli. https://lnkd.in/ethzMRwV

📢 Recent Research paper🌐🩺 We're thrilled to announce the publication of our latest research article, addressing a critical need in the field of radiology and pulmonary disease diagnosis. 🔬 Title: Multi-head deep learning framework for pulmonary disease detection and severity scoring with modified progressive learning 📝 Abstract: Chest X-rays (CXR) are indispensable for diagnosing pulmonary diseases, especially in the context of the recent surge in COVID-19 and its variants. In our groundbreaking research article, we propose a unified framework for disease classification and severity scoring using CXRs. The proposed framework segments the lungs into six regions, providing a comprehensive analysis for accurate and early detection. 📊 Results: • Evaluation on the BRAX dataset for segmentation and classification into six classes. • Achieved F1 scores of 0.924 and 0.939 without and with fine-tuning on the validation set. • Attained a mean matching score of 80.8% for severity score grading. • Average area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.88 for disease classification. 📚 Read the Full Article: https://lnkd.in/dPi76AQK 👩⚕👨⚕ Let's continue pushing the boundaries of medical research for a healthier tomorrow! 🌟 Sajid Gul Khawaja Sajid Nazir Taimur Hassan Usman Akram #MedicalResearch #Radiology #HealthTech #AIInHealthcare #PulmonaryDiseases #ChestXRay #InnovationInMedicine

The ASCB's letter was focused on three important subjects: 1. The importance of fundamental research in the NIH research pipeline for both the health and economic competitiveness of the United States, 2. The challenges facing the next generation of biomedical researchers and the international nature of science, 3. The significance of contributions by foreign-born scientists to the U.S. biomedical research enterprise.
ASCB proposals, including preserving fundamental research and the challenges facing the next generation of biomedical researchers, are included in a Senate report on the future of the @NIH. https://lnkd.in/gFyt7XTu

These are great health research websites. There are several reputable websites in the United States that provide access to a lot of medical research. Here are a few examples: 1. PubMed (https://lnkd.in/eVew9iDt): PubMed is a widely used database maintained by the National Library of Medicine. It contains a vast collection of biomedical literature, including research articles, clinical studies, and scientific journals. 2. National Institutes of Health (NIH) (https://www.nih.gov/): The NIH is a federal agency that supports and conducts medical research. Their website provides access to a wide range of research publications, clinical trials, and health information. 3. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (https://www.cdc.gov/): The CDC is a leading national public health agency. Their website offers access to various research reports, studies, and data related to public health issues and diseases. 4. Mayo Clinic (https://lnkd.in/ePteFydv): The Mayo Clinic is a renowned medical center that provides comprehensive healthcare services. Their website features a wealth of medical research, patient care information, and educational resources. 5. American Medical Association (AMA) (https://www.ama-assn.org/): The AMA is a professional organization representing physicians in the United States. Their website includes a section dedicated to research, offering access to journals, articles, and other resources. These websites can serve as valuable sources of medical research and information. However, it is always important to critically evaluate the sources and consult with healthcare professionals for personalized advice and guidance.

Humble beginning for reimagining participation in clinical studies.
Passionate Entrepreneurial Spirit| Innovation and Growth in: Clinical Trials, Healthcare, Customer Success, and Excellence in Site Optimization, Decentralized Clinical Trials, Participant, Sponsor, CROs. and Site CX,
Exciting news for patient access to community based research. We’ve been talking about how few physicians participate in clinical trials as PIs and rarely offer trials to their patients. Let’s see how this NIH pilot changes things like access, diversity and inclusion. I’m hopeful that this can drive change.
NIH will bring clinical research into primary care offices with $30 million pilot
