🏙🌡️ A Tale of 2 Cities 🌡️🏙 American Forests’ own Tori Ford Jowers and Neveen Shawish decided to put our Tree Equity Score tool to the test! They visited two neighborhoods in two different cities with different #TreeEquity Scores to see if they could feel a difference. On average, the temperature in June in the DC area can be anywhere from 80-85° Fahrenheit. In the last couple of weeks, temperatures in DC have reached the high 90’s, the same temperatures as one of the hottest cities in America: San Antonio, TX. 🌡️ Trees are critical urban infrastructure that are essential to public health and well-being. Tree Equity Score was created to help address damaging environmental inequities by prioritizing human-centered investment in areas with the greatest need. 🌳 Hear more from Tori and Neveen, then go find your neighborhood’s Tree Equity Score at www.TreeEquityScore.org #ExtremeHeat

3wFascinating! I live in Alexandria, Virginia, and we have a lot of big, beautiful trees in our community, just as the video points out. I am grateful for our trees and all they contribute to making this a wonderful city. It’s one of the many reasons I love living here. I take pictures of the trees on my street all the time. These are my favorites blooming this week. #VisitAlexandria
