As global lead for Accenture's focus on cross cultural diversity, I am often talking to our people around the world about how they can better collaborate with team members from other countries and cultures. At Accenture we partner with Aperian to offer all our people the opportunity to explore their cultural profile, and to invite others to compare and contrast differences with a view to strengthening team work. Our cultural profiles can very often change over time, perhaps as we work on a different team, have new responsibilities, or have been influenced by a new culture. What is your cultural profile? 🎉 5 Years in the Workforce: A Personal Reflection 🎉 The photo below was me on my first day of work! Grateful and thrilled to mark this milestone! 🌟 It's been an incredible journey from my humble beginnings at IKEA when I was just 16, to where I stand today in the dynamic field of communications and administration. Looking back, these years have been a true rollercoaster of growth, challenges, and self-discovery. My journey started with assisting customers in a warehouse, helping them create their dream spaces. It taught me the value of attention to detail and teamwork. As the years went by, I navigated the labyrinth of responsibilities, gradually transitioning into the world of communications and to where I am currently in educational administration. What an amazing shift it's been! 🚀 I remember blowing my first paycheck of £160 on new clothes and shoes being so excited to do things for myself that I was never able to do before. The skills I've acquired along the way have been transformative. From learning the art of crafting compelling messages to mastering the intricacies of leadership, and moving into my politics and international relations degree, each step has brought fresh insights and exciting challenges. But more than the skillset, these years have gifted me something invaluable: self-confidence. 💪 I've learned to advocate for my ideas, to step up and lead when needed, and to believe in my ability to make a difference. Through the highs and lows, I've discovered a resilience within me that I never knew existed. It's amazing how work can be a mirror, reflecting back our strengths and areas for growth. As I reflect on these 5 years as a 21 year old, I am truly grateful for the opportunities that have shaped me into who I am today. Today marks my 3-year anniversary at B&R. 🙌 Looking back on the past years, I can for sure say it has not been boring at all 😉. But to be more serious: These 3 years have been a journey full of learnings and growth for me. Here I've listed some of my personal highlights working at B&R as part of ABB:   𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡: Two years ago, B&R got a new visual design to show that B&R and ABB belong together (B&R as part of ABB Group). It was such a unique opportunity for me at this young age to gain insights into strategic branding initiatives and how to "bring them to life" within a global company. 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞: After 1.5 years in the Media Creation team, where I learned a lot about graphics, photo- and video shootings, I had the opportunity to develop and expand my communication skills further by transitioning to Internal Communications. 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Leading initiatives within Internal Comms, developing a team strategy, and implementing new internal channels has been quite some work 😉 but to evolve the strategy, the team and achieve milestones together is so motivating and I'm also super proud of what has been achieved so far. 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁&𝐑 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐁𝐁): Every day, I gain new insights into working within a global company, especially through our close collaboration with ABB. I'm learning so much about managing global communication projects - from creating a global communication strategy to measuring the impact of concrete activities.  𝐀𝐁𝐁 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦: I'm super grateful to be part of the ABB Female Mentoring Program, where I get support and guidance from my mentor, helping me navigate my career path. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥: Last year, I stepped out of my comfort zone as a young talent to present at our global Town Hall. To be on stage infront of so many people was a personal milestone for me. 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: From quarterly WeGrow Days, summer parties with all HQ colleagues, company run events with our B&R Runners, or enjoying dinner events with my communications team - these events are always a highlight for me. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬: Being able to work with so many talented colleagues from B&R and ABB every day is really what makes going to work so fun!   I'm looking forward for many more highlights to come! 🚀
