ABS recently held a meeting in its Athens office with the IACS project team on “Shaft Alignment Damages” to discuss common IACS Rules and recommendations on major technical subjects. This initiative is expected to increase safety and reliability by increasing the minimum standards for propulsion shaft alignment throughout the #maritime industry. As the manager of the IACS project team, ABS led this effort that included other shaft alignment experts and discussed technical details for a common way forward to elevate the quality standards on this critical aspect of #shipbuilding.
