While the advertised position clearly stated it was on-site, a significant portion of applicants inquired about the possibility of remote work. This experience sparked a conversation within our team. We understand the appeal of remote work, particularly for experienced professionals seeking flexibility. However, for fresh graduates with limited experience, an on-site environment offers invaluable benefits. A traditional office fosters a collaborative atmosphere where interns can learn directly from senior colleagues. Daily interactions and exposure to real-time problem-solving scenarios enhance crucial interpersonal skills – communication, teamwork, and creative brainstorming. Newcomers to the workforce benefit greatly from in-person guidance and mentorship. The ability to ask questions, observe industry veterans in action, and receive immediate feedback accelerates skill development and fosters professional confidence. We recognize the importance of flexibility in today's work landscape. However, for entry-level positions, on-site experience provides a solid foundation for future career growth, both within a company and beyond. I was so fierce and full of enthusiasm to be a full time staff after I finished my internship at this company. As a result, I was offered to be a full time staff even before I finished my internship. My goal is simple but huge, I want to help Malaysians to work in Singapore. I grasped knowledge tremendously and utilized every information that I learned, saw and heard from my superiors and colleagues. To engage in possibly hundreds candidates per day in different job seeking platforms undeniably can be tiring, however it is also a fruitful journey. Either I learned a lot from the candidates or the candidates learned a lot from my humble little knowledge to make their Singapore job application more easier. I encountered this unspeakable pleasure and delighted when candidates passed the Singapore job interview as they have been working so hard to secure a job. For myself, it can be a teary moment of joy and pride when I hear them say “Thank you miss Intan, for helping me to get a Singapore Job. I could not do it without your guidance. I really need this work because I really need to support my family financially. I can only do that by working in Singapore”. I helped them to solve their concerns regarding life commitments with their family and to stabilize their finances. Everyone has their own hardships and struggles that they do not often speak about. I consider my success by sourcing candidates with whatever job seeking platforms that I have, until they pass the interview, and their ability to work diligently in the company are the biggest achievement for me. As this can be concluded that I successfully made a placement to ease the company manpower by providing them good quality workers and meeting their job requirement. After all, recruitment agencies mainly exist to ease the manpower concerns among the clients from entry level until executives positions. I believe by helping Malaysians to work in Singapore, I actually helped both parties to be successful in their own way. The workers are able to earn Singapore Dollars while enhancing their working experience and the clients are able to operate their company without having manpower issues. As a Human Resource intern, I embarked on each day with enthusiasm, eager to apply the transferable skills I had gained from my previous job. In my previous role, I had honed my ability to draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), a skill that would prove invaluable in my weekly tasks as an HR intern. One of my primary responsibilities as an intern was to assist in streamlining HR processes and enhancing employee onboarding. On my first day, I was tasked with revising the existing onboarding procedure. Drawing on my SOP drafting skills, I approached this task systematically. I began by thoroughly reviewing the current onboarding process, identifying areas that needed improvement. This analytical thinking had been a cornerstone of my previous job, ensuring that processes were efficient and well-documented. I then interviewed senior HR staff to gather insights and feedback, just as I had done when creating SOPs in my previous role. Using the information I had gathered, I created a comprehensive, step-by-step onboarding SOP. This document detailed every aspect of the onboarding process, from paperwork and training modules to IT setup and introductions to colleagues. The clarity and precision I had cultivated in my previous job were evident in this new SOP, ensuring that the onboarding process would be smoother and more consistent for future hires. Throughout the week, I continued to apply my transferable skills to various HR tasks. When tasked with organizing training sessions for employees, I leveraged my SOP drafting skills to create detailed training outlines and materials. This meticulous approach ensured that training sessions were structured, efficient, and easily repeatable. Furthermore, my ability to communicate and document procedures effectively was instrumental in my role. I created user-friendly guides for employees, simplifying complex HR policies and benefits. This not only facilitated better understanding among employees but also reduced the HR department's workload in addressing common inquiries. As the week came to a close, I reflected on how my transferable skills from my previous job had seamlessly integrated into my role as an HR intern.
