Here’s an experience I want to share with my fellow editors and filmmakers: I've been fortunate to be a part of a Jordanian TV series, editing the full season (30 episodes). So you're probably thinking I edited this using Adobe Premiere Pro? Or if this were Hollywood, it would be mandatory to use Avid, or else I'd never be considered for the job, right? Wrong. My non-linear editing software was exclusively DaVinci Resolve from start to finish. I am not a brand ambassador for Blackmagic Design, or trying to advertise DaVinci Resolve in any way. What I am trying to say is, don’t believe in “elitist” editors who tell you specific software is only for short form, or recruiters who mandate the use of certain software before they hire you. In the end, it's not about which NLE is being used; it's about who’s using it and what they're capable of. The software itself doesn’t make you a better or worse editor; it's all about your creativity, skills, and experience. So, my message to “elitists” everywhere is to please keep an open mind and let people create the way they see fit. #videoediting #blackmagicdesign #davinciresolve #tvseries

Left my full-time job to run Spacebar Visuals full-time two months ago. Crazy how fast time flies. Crazier what I've learned over the past two months. Here are two of my biggest lessons being a 24-year-old entrepreneur so far. 1. Your schedule is everything. If you want to do great work, you need to prioritize what you focus on. That means time-blocking, limiting distractions, and getting into deep work. Overseeing project management, account management, HR, lead generation, finances, and more, I am pulled in a lot of directions. Putting hour-time blocks on my schedule to focus on one task is helping me limit those distractions, and put first things first. 2. Great team = Great product It's simple. Hire great video editors. Hire great animators. Hire great voice-over talent. You create something you love to show to clients. And they love it too. Again. It's simple. Have a great Co-Founder / Mentor (Brandon Pindulic). Have a great Ops Leader (George Pandl). And hire hungry talent (Cody Tran). All of a sudden, my life is much easier. What's been my favorite part of the past two months? It's knowing we're just getting warmed up. 😎
